Seemed like LAG didn't pay a lot of their starters. Wondering if they would have scored more had certain players been available. Although the Rapids had a number of potential defensive starters out. So, my only conclusion on this game is:

Nice to see a few goals scored (last season we would have missed a wide-open net), but it is preseason and no point in getting worked up to the positive or negative. Can't wait for next Saturday to see how it goes in person!

And with that latest injury report, Rosenberry-Sjoberg-Wynne-Serna is a fairly likely week 1 backline, right?

That kind of figures, right? The Rapids' attack was pathetic last year.

Vines must be healthy. That’s great and same for Irwin.

Surprising no one, the Rapids just announced they signed Kofi Opare to a 1 year deal.

I believe this makes draftee Jacob Hauser-Ramsey the only unsigned non-Academy player left in camp.

How many CBs do we have now? Ford, Smith, Axel, Wilson, Opare, Hauser-Ramsey? Making up in quantity for what we lack in quality, I guess.

For someone who virtually played every minute of every game in 2018 despite his very suspect "performance level" (AH's words, not mine), Tommy Smith had way too many bumbled moments last year. Whether it was his Homer Simpson-esque moments or his frequent U6-caliber ball-watching, given how much he played and how often the gaffes happened, this directly resulted in many unnecessary goals last season...way too many for the team leader in minutes.

So, I'm not surprised at all about anyone who would question him being an automatic CB starter again in 2019 regardless of roster depth.

Opare is an above average depth player at CB. I could see him rotating into the lineup when needed. Quality signing, IMO. You need guys like this to make any playoff run.

I'm not saying he should be, I'm saying that anyone who actually follows this team can tell you Ford and Smith will be the favored duo by Hudson. ;)

    Aaahhh! Good clarification. Concur 100%.

... which goes back to my prior dead horse point about Hudson (and his bullheaded decision-making with roster or tactics) potentially being the weakest link on the revamped roster.

It is time to get a game-thread up and running (since it is now only a few days away). Anyone have a creative idea to name it that will stick for the season and bring us good luck?
