If you had Mason Toye and Minnesota handing LAFC their first home loss of the year, you win!

I asked last year for Cinci: do the revs have 12 players worth protecting (that require protection?)

*note* homegrown players on the off budget roster and generation addidas players still on a GA contract were ineligible for selection in the 2019 expansion draft. This would exclude Buchanon, Rennicks, Angking, Firmino, Herivaux, and somehow Caldwell from the eligible pool

Leaving Mancienne unprotected is a no brainer. Nobody is going to take that salary with the type of productivity that comes with it. If they do its a win for the Revs. There are better CB's for less money to be had. If Burns was in charge I would not be saying this but I have confidence Bruce and Co. can get it done

November 16th will be an interesting day. A very good look at how Arena values much of the roster.

This is one of those very infrequent/very rare "public displays" by management that is an **actual reveal**, at least to some extent, of the team's inner thinking and hints of future plans. In this case it is compulsory - but regardless of the drivers, we'll take it however we can get it.

Revs fans don't get that very often, so I agree it is very much something to look forward to.

This looks like a change, so Caldwell (age 28) might not get automatic protection anymore:

At least 3 internationals have to be protected. For the first time in recent history, that won't be a problem (Gil, Bou, Penilla).

Wow, he is 35? Quite a career. I hope he gets honored at Gillette in a fitting way.

I was thinking of Larentowicz, but then I had a moment of clarity...

Maybe this former Bundesliga and DanishSuperliga player can spend his twilight years in the US in MLS shoring up center of Revs defense.

After all, a lot of former European players spend their final seasons in MLS. Why not Parkhurst too?

It would be an upgrade for the Revs defense.

(Yes, I know all of the scuttle that he hasn't wanted to play for NE for a while. Pretend that chatter doesn't exist....)

Huh? You know he's been in MLS for like the past 5+ years, right?

Well, maybe-just-maybe, the one who discouraged that sort of thing isn't here anymore (and one of Arena's people will see the value in it)?

If he had retired from Bundesliga, or EPL, Serie A, or LaLiga, there would be some chatter saying he should come back to MLS now that he's done playing in his more-fabulous league.

Because he's retiring from MLS, there's no "what if he came to MLS to play a few seasons" now that he's retiring.

[But - he's played in both Bundesliga and in MLS - so its just funny that because the MLS label is the most recent, it's excluding him from the normal "post retirement he should play for [team name]" noise/chatter.]

    The Main Point:
In any case, he'd be an upgrade to middle of Revs defense, as compared to what is in place now - regardless of which league or team he is retiring from.

{I'm not advocating that the Revs get him specifically - just pointing out that sad truth that even at 34, he'd be better than what Revs currently have; and (as said above) that because he's retiring from MLS there's no "post retirement he should play for [team name]" noise.)

But, what if the Revs put their new USL team in RI? He could "go back home". ;)

    Money well spent!

Still not updated for Turner's extension unfortunately. I bet he is 4-5x the $75k listed now.

Mancienne at 999.5k, Agudelo at 605k, and Castillo at 249,999.96 soon to be off the books means nearly 2M more for another DP

My favorite to see were both Caicedos: Luis at 300k exactly and JFC at 500,000.04. I can only imagine what it took to negotiate over those $0.04.
