Monterrey, 4 international titles in 4 international finals played Tigres, 0 international titles in 4 international finals played (all with Tuca)
Sudden death means 1st to score wins. PKs aren't sudden death. ---------- Mountking celebrates 4th title in 4th different venue. SLC, TSM, Tec and BBVA. C'CAF team of the decade, by far. Pachuca was team of the 2000s. How many players were on all 4 championship teams

The reason one of the sides only has one tier is so they can keep the view to the "chair mountain" (an icon of the city of Monterrey) which is the one you see at the back. At their old stadium, the view to the mountain was the main attraction.
After they tie in the 5/5, it's first-one-to-fail out. That is termed "sudden death" in English: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudden_death_(sport) If the teams are still tied after the initial allocated number in the penalty shoot-out, the game goes to sudden-death penalties, where each team takes a further one penalty each, repeated until only one team scores, resulting in the winning of the game. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-c...guide-penalty-shootout-rules-techniques-win1/ Penalty shootouts have been used to determine the winners of World Cup knockout matches since 1982, in the event that teams are level after extra time. Teams face-off in a best of five contest with additional "sudden death" penalties taken if scores are level after five apiece. https://anza.org.sg/assets/sports/soccer/rules-and-policies/Rules_for_Penalty_Shootouts.pdf A different player must be used for each kick and a player involved in the first 5 kicks cannot be reused in the subsequent "sudden death" situation until all other players on his side, including the goalkeeper, have taken their turn. You're thinking in Spanish, where the equivalent phrase ("muerte súbita") only applies to a Golden Goal.
Monterey seems like a well run team until they go on to the CWC and get embarassed in the QF. This time there is no CWC, so we can pretend like they are a good team.
To be fair, a single elimination game doesn't really do anyone's justice. I'm interested in how this new CWC format will be. How will the four slots be decided? Seems a bit pointless in having a champion from four years ago participate. Form wouldn't be the same. I'm hoping that we can get back into libertadores
So far, FIFA has left the 2019 CWC in limbo: selecting a host was on the agenda for the March meeting here in Miami, but they didn't choose one. We'll have to find out one way or another in June...
