Sure seems like he has put in the work to be where he is...it highlights how difficult it must be to be a young coach and need to hopscotch around to climb the ladder. Reading that bio he seems worthy of the opportunity and the search crew did the work to find a good candidate. Some of the hires suggest good timing and succession planning as presumably ready assistants get the job. Some imply networking as coaches are hired by “coaching tree” methods. This one follows more of a traditional private sector job search approach to finding the best candidate.

Fordham went vacant first week of December...surprised they haven’t made a hire by now. Apparently an assistant wasn’t ready to jump right in. I get that A10 isn’t Big10 but you’d think there is a quality coach somewhere who would like to run that program. Facilities aren’t great and it isn’t cheap to live there but it is an awesome campus and a team with recent success.

High Point has good alumni endowments and interesting gaming majors. The purple pitch is a bit weird, but the stadium is a quaint facility.
High Point has been referred to as the "Concierge College" Most of the major buildings on campus have a concierge's desk in them.
On a scale of 1-10, the facilities is a 5, but I will not give any pitch with a track around it higher than a 5. I believe they have gotten rid of the purple pitch, new field turf installed before the last season.
With many of the semester schools just starting this week a chance for smaller athletic departments to save a month's salary...

Now he gets to go head-to-head with his collegiate head coach, Dave Masur. He also works for the Red Bulls as a scout so that should help him get some of their players to come to Fordham.
