What I really appreciate about Josh Sargent is that its really easy to spot him on the field while watching a game. If he grew that hair out Marouane Fellaini style, it would be a work of art. beginners luck 💪🏼💚🦁 #werder #3points pic.twitter.com/G57NZVl6TL— Josh Sargent (@joshsargent) December 7, 2018
Not yet! There are a couple of options for kids breaking into first team football soon. New first team contract for Sergio Dest. Sergiño Dest ➡️ 🖊😍2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣1️⃣❗️📃 All info: https://t.co/GsJxLPDAhl pic.twitter.com/w2Qk8Uk4pA— AFC Ajax (@AFCAjax) December 10, 2018
I'm very impressed by this kid. He handled Diego Lainez all by himself with no problem. He may be Yedlin's replacement sooner than we think.
There is a LOT of potential on these lists. I look to who is playing and earning playing time with their clubs. Competition is #2. Since we are predicting, I will go out on a limb and add an attacking player that enjoy watching...although raw: Emmanual Sabbi
FCD looks to go with their young Homegrowns for 2019. Paxton Pomykal, Jesus Ferreira, Thomas Roberts and Brandon Servania are expected to compete for minutes. I really like Pomykal and Servania to excel. I'll be following FCD this coming season like I did with the Union last season.
I hope so too, but this is all a little premature. We don't know who the coach is going to be, the identity of the current GM is puzzlingly undefined, or what the complete roster is going to look like. And it should be noted that FCD has amassed a huge amount of allocation money and has freed up an estimated $3 million in salary so far this offseason. They have freed up a bunch of international roster spots as well. [Also have 2 of the top 10 picks in the draft.] So they're sitting on a huge pile of assets to upgrade their roster should they want to go in that direction, as opposed to simply moving the kids up the ladder. There are going to be more transfers IN and OUT this off-season. I'm going to hold off on a depth chart analysis until they're all complete. I would add that we're hearing a bunch of rumors about another crop of homegrown signings as well. An not just US U17 Ricardo Pepi, who signed a USL deal with their affiliate.
One of the worst kept secrets with regards to American youngsters moving abroad. Still, this looks closer to completion. Also worth reminding ourselves that the minimum salary for non-EU players in Holland is $225k. So PSV is really investing in this player. He could advance quite quickly. I'm hearing that midfielder Richie Ledezma, who came up in the Real Salt Lake academy, will be in Eindhoven next week for his medical with PSV. If all goes well an announcement should come before Christmas and he'll be eligible to play, likely with Jong PSV, in January.— scuffed (@scuffedpod) December 14, 2018 Also worth reminding ourselves that we recently won the U20 CONCACAF Championships without Ledesma and Chris Durkin playing any part. Or Tyler Adams, who is still age eligible. Our depth of young midfielders is looking really strong right now.
It is so surreal to see Ferreira being projected to do so well this upcoming year and even be associated with the breakout players in this thread. His father was one of my favorite players in Colombia due to his creativity and gritty ways for his size. It seems like just yesterday I was watching David play in the Copa America. I would be proud to see him play for the USA but I know there's still some people in Colombia who think he may play for Colombia. It will be interesting to see how this all develops & what his Dad thinks about the situation too.
Ironic............. Report that Diego Lainez is close to joining Ajax #eltrieng #ligamxeng https://t.co/12tf3rEc6K— Tom Marshall (@mexicoworldcup) December 16, 2018
17 year old LA Galaxy midfielder Ulysses Llanez has received an offer in the last few days from Serie A side AS Roma. The USA u20 star also holds offers from Genoa and Atalanta. #MLS #LAGalaxy #LAG #USMNT pic.twitter.com/COUxuUqFzX— MLS Buzz (@MLS_Buzz) December 18, 2018
To me the breakout youngster is hands down Tyler Adams. He's gotten 8 caps, scored against Mexico and secured a transfer to Germany. In my eyes, he was the best USMNT player this year and he is only 19.
Here's the official news that RSL academy product and US U20 Richie Ledesma has signed for PSV. 1076090372059738112 is not a valid tweet id
1076151913698263040 is not a valid tweet id Nice depth. A lot of possibilities for the future in this U-20 group alone.
Yup. A nice 2 year sliver of the player pool. Add this group to the last U20 cycle (Pulisic, McKennie, EPB, CCV, etcc.) and you've got a nice core of prospects. Just keep building and building and building……………………….. I would also add that the pools are going to look stronger and stronger as more academies mature. A lot of the weight in this U20 pool is being carried by LAG, RSL, FCD, and Philly. Each with multiple high profile players in the team.
It’s a talented group, but that’s a terrible illustration. Looks like the work of someone who just hears names and doesn’t have a real grasp on the pool.
Ok....I'd be interested to see your choices. Who is he missing? Who shouldn't be included and why? (I don't know the group nearly well enough to construct a roster)
