The one they advertise as being "The Battle of DC", even though DC actually has soccer teams but they aren't involved? Should be Howard vs Georgetown. People complained last year that it was a pretty bad, listless game
Tickets aren't too bad for USA v Cuba. Prices I've seen so far are $24, $28, $35, $40, $42, $45, $52 (for what are fairly decent seats, no less), $65, $70, $78, $85, $95, $100, $125, $150, and $200. You can sit 11 rows up on the West side at midfield for $65, which I don't think is too obnoxious. Also, no seats are being sold in sections 101-115, at least during this presale.
It looks like management reacted to this criticism. During the Galaxy game at Audi Field, it was advertised on the south screen as the "Battle for the DMV".
I used some of my FAM to get some concession vouchers for tonight's game. Do these work at all concessions in the stadium? Anyone have any experience using these or tips to pass along?
Not necessarily. They used to work at the Pupusas, but then last time they didn't except them. The main bars do take them. Check with the cashier before ordering, and specify that these are the FAM concession vouchers. Also, they are tied to your game ticket, so on your phone get your game ticket and then look for the voucher.
I have no idea who in the FO was resposible for rolling out FAM out or who is responsible now for how it is carried out but do they think this enhances the fan experience? The best thing I can say about this is that they have turned part of the fan experience into the equivalent of clipping coupons. If you are under 45 don't expect to understand the previous sentence.
In other news, I was told that my season ticket prices are NOT going up for 2020, and I could lock them in for 2021 as well if I wanted.
Two more years at current prices will give me plenty of time to see what the team does going forward and decide if I want to keep my season tickets beyond that.
Wait, are they saying two more years at current rates and then in 2022 the rate will be the same as the game day rate? Is that what full retail means?
yes, two more years at whatever rate you are paying now. Then in 2022 you will pay whatever the season ticket rate is for those seats - which is not the same as game day rate (which is now "Dynamic!"). This last game, unsold standard seats in my section were going for $89 instead of the $43 season ticket price. resale seats were going for $53.
Apparently new season ticket holders for 2020 are getting a higher price than renewals. But you can get friends who want to become STHs in at 2019 prices.
Stay safe @sitruc Man said devil urged him to fatally stab worker on Frederick Douglass Bridge, court document states Thx, Jay!
I saw that this morning on NBC4 shortly before a planned ride over the bridge. My reaction was along the lines of "FFS." FWIW, the northside sidewalk (along the west bound lanes) has been closed for a week. The entrance lane from the park EOTR has been closed for a few weeks. A temporary path to re-route some of the trail traffic beneath the bridge has around for a few weeks so more of the area where the entrance lane can be worked on. The sidewalks are extremely narrow. Now everyone has to use the same one. Passing pedestrians is precarious. I have always yielded to cyclists coming the opposite direction as a courtesy. More than anything, I'm looking forward to the new trails over the bridge. On both sides there will be space for pedestrians and cyclists.
19,871 was the sellout number for the Spirit tonight. I fully focused on that game when United went down 0-2.
You know that pattern of wet spots appearing at gametime on the Audi pitch? Remember how we'd see those and blush with shame--how we felt they made our beloved club look so . . . amateurish? Tune-in to el Traffico right now. (FS1) If you look very carefully, you'll see the same thing at Banc of Cali. It's barely noticable now, but at the opening kick off . . . you bet your ass. Look, our club has problems, but so do others. Our problems aren't the issue. Our club's problems aren't getting fixed-- that's the issue.
Most venues water the field so the field plays faster before the match and again at halftime. The Audi Field groundscrew lay some pipe at half so the wet spots aren't there.
