    Exactly...

  2. Cameroon also out.
    Portugal
    Australia
    And New Zealand
    Not in yet either.

    NZ won't make it.
Australia probably will, Portugal even more likely.

I just saw this. Totally crazy. Did Guerrero know it was indirect, because it sure looked like he did not.

Iceland still celebrating. The Viking Thunder Clap is awesome when done by a whole city.

Party in Buenos Aires. Leo went from "pecho frío desgraciado" to "our hero!" in 90 minutes.

Thousands of people flooded Panama City. With Iceland, Panama is the other World Cup virgin going to Russia:

If they didn't complain about Bolivia after drawing them 1-1, they would've been in over Peru, as they only got 2 points from that D becoming a W vs. Peru's L becoming a W and adding 3 points to them. The irony!

    Talk about Pyrrhic victories....

They'd have depended on Paraguay losing at home to Venezuela, and no one thought that one was going to happen...

Messi is a hero until he fails to win the World Cup with Argentina again.

    Not really.

If Chile wouldn't have made that complaint, Peru would have made it anyway, as it was one of their reporters who found out first about the inelegibility of the bolivian player, and at the end the only ones getting points from that complaint would've been them, while Chile wouldn't have got any points and also would've finished tied on points with Paraguay (2 points below Peru).

Speaking of conmebol, Venezuela really gave everyone a hard time those last few matches. They would be in the WC if they were in concacaf instead of conmebol. We should trade Venezuela for T&T to really make concacaf interesting.

Mostly disappointed, and of course a little sad. Nothing, that time can't heal, though.
Our whole football history is full of up's and down's (some times higher, and some times lower).

    And,.....

I'm sure you've realized that Chile have again been eliminated by Brazil. Chile really need to get payback on them someday.

Yes, but guess who blew their perfect WC qualifier process, giving them their only defeat in 18 matches ( it's also the reason why they wanted payback, at the last match date).

Together with Argentina, Brazil, defeats us in 7 of every 10 matches we play (2 finish in draws, and we win only once).

    Playoff draw for UEFA:

    Northern Ireland vs Switzerland
    Croatia vs Greece
    Denmark vs Rep of Ireland
    Sweden vs Italy

some pretty good match-ups there.. I guess Croatia and Italy would be considered favorites in their games, and then Switzerland / Denmark marginal favorites, but anyone could beat anyone here, so these games should be tight and tense.

Just realized that as much as people are talking about USA and Chile not qualifying, the real elephant in the room here is Italy. They actually don't have a great track record vs. Sweden, and while they'll go in as favorites, the Swedes have already beaten France and eliminated the Netherlands, so they'll be no pushovers. Unlikely, but there is a real chance that Italy may not go to the World Cup next year

If Italy doesn't make the world cup that will be the biggest disappointment for this WC. The USA, Netherlands, Chile and Cameroon doesn't even come close to a failure like Italy missing the WC.
