I like Costa Rica. Technically, IMO, they're the best team in the region. I want them to represent the Confederation in Russia, with Mexico and USA. And, hopefully, Panama.
I don't think Costa Rica has ever beaten Honduras in a qualifier in Honduras. Same with the other way. They basically neutralize one another.
If the one goal score line holds we can actually move into 2nd place tonight with any multiple goal victory. That said we've only won 1 road qualifier of our last 23 by multiple goals and that was St. Vincent and The Grenadines so I wouldn't count on it
Honduras had possession, but we had the best chances before the goal, including what seemed a clear penalty on Borges. They have been riding on their momentum from the goal, after that, looking way more confident. Anyone's game still, but Honduras looking good and motivated, right now.
In '06 Honduras beat us at Alejandro Morera Soto in Alajuela before the Hex. We drew at Honduras. And you said qualifier not Hex. 2002's CR win at Tegucigalpa stands either way.

I didn't really like the football! Both teams played it way too safe when the score was to their liking. The referee was abysmal, too. Both teams made some hard plays that went unpunished. I certainly like the result, though. Good luck in your coming matches. Let's hope for some draws tonight.
