Don't forget the shit team that discourages the fans who would normally endure bad weather, long drives and hellish traffic. I'm surprised 100 showed up.
United really should have scored at the end of the 2nd half after they absorbed all of Orlando's pressure and took control of the game. The Durkin red in extra time sealed that it was going to penalties.
This should answer your question. I am glad he was there to see his handiwork. Although I doubt he had the stones to stay through the rain delay.
Turns out the awful ticket thing ended up being a non-issue - they didn't ask me for a ticket at all, just wanded me and let me in. I did not attempt to enter before the storm delay. I don't have a smartphone and I could see the storm coming - I saw it on others' radar on their phones and it was obvious the game should not have started when it did. I made it to the 86th minute before I had to rush to the ferry (got the last one) - but by the 80th I was fairly certain the game had PKs written all over it. I would have been upset if a goal had been scored in OT that I missed but I never care about seeing/missing penalties, just tell me afterward who won a coin-flip to win at that point.
There is quite literally no way they could count attendance, they weren't even taking tickets to get in. I would bet that number wouldn't have been too far off had everyone stayed thru the rain. It sure is way off for the "crowd" after the delay.
I was the same. I didn't even think of trying to enter to begin and was surprised it began. As I walked up, people were walking away. Later on my phone wasn't working right at first and signal isn't great out there. I stood off to the side for a while pulling up my ticket and was almost disappointed when nobody was looking for a ticket.
