I thought Matip, van Dijk and Moreno looked quite rusty.

Lot of tired legs from what I read. Makes sense that after 10 intensive days of training and 3 games that the players look a bit gassed as they build fitness.

I know. Can’t read too much in these matches; it’s a cliche I know but it’s true.

Had this game on the tablet while England was on the big screen. A frustrating morning...

Was on the verge of falling asleep during certain stages of this game today... But I did really like seeing yet another quality performance from Curtis Jones. Was impressed with his performance in the Chester game, and if anything he was better today. Really good close control, and seems to be able to wriggle his way through an opponent or two and still make a pass to an open teammate.

Ojo did okay, but I thought he played better against Chester. Also thought Camacho was better as a fullback than midfielder. Other than that a frustrating game. You could see that we still have a big falloff in offensive quality if we don’t have our first team strikers/wingers available. Hoping Shakiri will help there, but wouldn’t mind seeing another striker/winger arrive.

Interesting that after all this Ward business were seeing 60 min of Karius and 30 of Grabara and NO Ward... something odd there.

Klopp explained that Ward would get the same chance in the next game against Blackburn. He wanted them both to play more than 45 minutes.

Wilson was missing because he is on the verge of a loan deal and they didn’t want to risk anything.

The other one to miss out was Ryan Kent. He was in the squad, but we had one too many players.

Kent is a disappointing one - he’s really very skilled and looked like he was in the verge of making the step up based on last preseason - but the two loan spells just didn’t work out.

Hopefully Wilson makes more of his chances - like he did last season.

I'll be there. Who's with me? More importantly, who's tailgating with me? Is there a travel thread yet to coordinate our pre/post match shananagans?

102,000? That’s a hell of a crowd. Hopefully it will be treated to something more than bus-parking from the usual suspects.

Check with the Detroit supporters group. I assume they'll be planning something. Twitter @lfcinthed. The Anfield Wrap is doing a show at their bar the night before.

Pretty lacklustre first half from the Reds. No pep in the game , they all look knackered . Klopp must be working them hard in training. No one stood out for me tbh . Hopefully the second half edition will be better.
