Well, there's nothing about Mama, or trains, or trucks, or prison, or gettin' drunk, so it's not the "perfect country and western song". He's just hanging around. asitis
Your girl. Your truck, your dog.... Please dont forget to tip the bar staff (I acknowledge how bad that was. Bad joke Asperger's)
I've always wondered about the country music hierarchy of your girl, your truck, and your dog. I just don't think that is the correct order. My guess is that #1 is dog (irreplaceable); with truck and girl trailing behind (both replaceable; truck perhaps easier than girl) - but truck is usually not as trouble-prone as girl, IMO.
Reminds me of a song by Mickey Newbury, "Bugger Red Blues". Bugger Red had a dog who used to jump into the bed of his truck, whenever he'd drive. Turns out his wife ran off, taking his truck, and of course, with his dog in the back. I think he missed his dog the most. Sounds like you got it about right. asitis
Getting back to our regularly scheduled broadcast -- the Athletic panned Cincy's 5 picks. Noted that Mattocks and Adi had not co-existed well in Portland and couldn't see how it would work any better in Cincy. Noted that Mattocks' salary and salary demands didn't make sense unless a team intended to start him. The only pick that was praised -- sort of -- was the defender picked from RBNY because he has potential. The others were deemed one or more of too old, too often injured, too expensive. The take on the Kamara deal was even more scathing -- essentially they claimed him and then traded him for a bag of balls. Obviously we'll see, but this looks far more like the Loons than LAFC or Atlanta.
Did you expect any less from a team who announced they weren't planning to spend any money and then signed half their USL squad to the MLS roster?
"This could work" - https://sportsday.dallasnews.com/soccer/soccer/2018/12/16/luchi-gonzalez-named-fc-dallas-head-coach then again, maybe it won't It seems like a great move to take your Youth Coach and make him your head coach of the senior team. It works when you have one unified system for decades through a succession of coaches who've also played or have been tutored in your system. Like Barcelona. But coaching developing young players is a lot different than coaching senior players most of whom are not from your youth system. Time will tell.
According to Orlando City SC officials: Dwyer was on a pitch at Sylvan Lake Park that was not owned by Orlando City SC and was marked "closed" and was asked to leave by a county official. https://t.co/hOFLaIuWmo— Jordan Culver (@JordanCulver) December 17, 2018 Orlando players have no where to train right now as facilities are being built or whatever. Players are being kicked off public parks and other spaces for trying to train there. Orlando is more of a wreck than we know and the Ponzi scheme that is MLS might need a new owners there eventually
I thought players weren't supposed to be training with their teams until January .... did they change that rule? Does the rule not work how I thought it did?
dotcom let it out that Atlanta practiced a lot more than MLSPU permitted during the season. Who knows?
Most teams help defray costs of individual training in the offseason and provide space for them to use or help them find space. Orlando is just a mess
Apparently figuring out the Away-Goal Tie-Breaker Rule was too difficult for them - https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018/12/13/2019-mls-playoff-structure
I wonder what bearing this will have on the drafts and preseason. Having the drafts out of the way by Christmas might make things easier, especially with all the transfer windows for other leagues generally opening at the beginning of January.
Fascinating article in the Athletic regarding Mike Piazza's failed ownership of Reggio Emiliana 1919. https://theathletic.com/721275/2018...-demise-of-a-100-year-old-italian-soccer-club
