Welp guys, it's down to eight teams! No time like the present, let's look forward to next week's matches.

All four #1's and three of the #2's are in the elite 8.
Penn State being the only unseeded team to make it.

    All great games coming.
NO loss at this point is a huge upset, and any win is a big one indeed!
    Dang UCLA!

That's a bad time for fan support. Many people work, but that is the weekend of the oblong football game with UF, so maybe that will bleed over.

One of the problems with a big pointy ball weekend is hotel availability, which is important. Maybe all the area hotels have been booked up for a long time, meaning that only a Friday day time game would work. Didn't something like this happen a while ago where FSU (or some other team) had to forego a quarter-final home field advantage due to the lack of hotel availability?

I'm torn on this match, I picked FSU in the bracket challenge, but I'm a PSU fan.

I saw the 2nd half and the FSU defense was just too strong. Penn State worked hard but could not really penetrate and get any quality chances except for the free kick at about the 7/8' minute mark. That was a chance, and it was a fairly solid attempt--but a little wide.

PSU was lacking offensively all season long.
I'm glad it was competitive and that we didn't get blown out.

Does everybody think Tierna Davidson will be back for the College Cup.? Apparently she is ahead of schedule and Coach R suggested she might be ready soon.

Georgetown up on Baylor 1-0 halftime. A clash of titans between UNC and UCLA later, I have UCLA winning, they are more healthy than UNC (Russo was a huge loss)

Holy Bleep, Bat Man! Am I reading this right? Georgetown midway through the second half is up 2-2 over Baylor which is not surprising in itself, but is out shooting the Bears 18-1, 8-0 on corners, and 7-0 shots on goal.

I have always said that by the 4th round, there are no outcomes that should be considered "upsets" as the elite 8 represents a group of strong teams that has coalesced, and any one of them could beat any other on a given day. And while this game is no exception, the dominating stats are curious. Is it the weather?

Be careful, UNC is the last team you want to overlook.

North Carolina the better team the first half, AND with a 1-0 lead. Flemming falls a lot..

    Georgetown field was pathetic.
