Sure, but they are now in power.

I mean as a centrist, I do not want the Sanders wing of the party (if he is even part of the party) to win, but from the POV of the hard left, they need to primary moderate Democrats and see where the chips fall, if that means winning and going radical, so be it, if it means handing over easy wins to Trump and the GOP so be it, they should not care about that if they want to remake the Democratic party.

Another trump term would sure be quite an impetus for change in the party. They'd have had 8 years to validate "staying the course" or shall we go 12?

Somebody advocating for eight years of Donald Trump because they don't get policies they can't even articulate should be disqualified from voting.

By the way, how's it going writing out the specific policies you want? I cannot imagine it's been too difficult for you to find the free time, given your frequent posting history.

Are you daft? Have you not noticed that I have ignored your pointed remarks? Nah, I choose not to address your condescending approach. I prefer just to tell you to GFYS. You're just some kid on the interwebs. Good day.

It's condescending to ask someone what policies they want, on a politics forum.

    Now I've heard everything.

While that specific ask may not be condescending, let's not act like condescension, belittling, and browbeating isn't a major part of your overall package as a poster.

I sit here on my lofty perch and shout down at you all, "What is it that you want from government?" And when you cannot answer that question, my follow-up "then stop ********ing it up for the rest of it" appears to be the hallmark of condescension.

    What a dick am I.

Then of course, there's the posts where I ask people why they believe in things that aren't true. That's condescending, too, I suppose.

Perhaps having a base of facts, and an ability to articulate complete sentences, makes me arrogant. I'll concede the point.

It's your assertion, therefore your burden.

R at +7 in K-4 is a HUGE swing towards Democrats. That's indicitive of a 10 point lead for the Democrats in the generic ballot.

If Dems can break even in the Senate (or even gain 2 seats in Nevada and Arizona) then they're looking at this map in 2020, starting at break even

Only 1 of those states are realistic for a GOP take over, New Hampshire, where Sheehan sits with approximately 60% approval. Tim Kaine won't lose in VA.

The Dems, however, might have opportunities in Colorado, LA (Bill Cassidy isn't all that popular), North Carolina (Thom Tillis is unpopular, and only won because of a GOP wave), and Maine if Susan Collins chooses to run for Governor. If there's a wave election due to Trump, then you might see Georgia be in play. Even in a wave I can't see either Joni Ernst (Iowa) or Jon Cornyn (Texas) losing elections. Dems despise Tom Cotton, but he's actually pretty popular in his state.

I think its really odd, because its not like an electable Dem is easily located in Utah.

To me, something illegal (that either he did, or just not wanting to investigate/bring down) looms or just a big pay day awaits.

The payday is possible still in office, so illegality could be the thing.

Or....he is just taking time off.

Rest up, make some cash and, I'd assume, he'd be a front runner to replace Oren Hatch at some point as a Utah Senator.

It's possible Chaffetz just got tired of choosing between supporting Trump and doing what he believes is the right thing.

Back about 25 years ago I knew a really young Democratic activist who was also a devout Catholic. He was super involved and super ambitious. Then all of a sudden one day he just dropped out. I talked to him on the phone about it, and while he didn't come out and say it, it was a situation where he just didn't want to have to be pro-choice, and you can't win as a Dem in NC as pro-life.

I have a hard time believing that. Before I knew him for being a dumbass, Trump slurper, I knew him for being a dumbass who wanted to ******** the District of Columbia.
