If anything this streak shows that the Team is succeeding in doing what they set out to do. We have proven we are a mid to high-midtable team. Precisely what Earnie, Jim, and Jay have advertised. The question is whether, or not, the fanbase is fine with that? I still don't think I have confidence that we could beat Atlanta, RBNY, FCD, LAFC, and possible NYCFC / SKC on a consistent basis, or win a 2-legged playoff against those teams above us in the East. That being said, this has been the most fun I've had in quite some time with the team. So, for me, I guess I am fine with this. Although I'd love to sit here and say we are a clear favorite to win MLS Cup.
thought maybe he asked for a picture with him. looked like rooney motioned toward the locker room. but yeah, funny either way
Perhaps it was payback for Harris stealing some Orange Slices??? Haris the 🐐 pic.twitter.com/cDccWzX8tR— Dave Zeitlin (@DaveZeitlin) August 30, 2018
Haris has been throwing some shade at opposition benches for a few games. Is that kind of behavior acceptable from opposition players? I know grabbing a water bottle is usually no big deal but pick pocketing orange slices is a deeper shade of shade. Is he taking to heart the "No one likes us" schtick? Will we get to see him in a Mummer's costume at a post season parade. Sorry, didn't mean to be optimistic - it just snuck out. Can I still post here?
It's extra hilarious because he totally projects this image as one of the responsible elder statesmen on the team, then just randomly breaks character and screws around.
I'm totally okay with it for now, as a building block sort of thing, but in the long-term I'm looking for ambition. I don't want to beat Goliath now and then, fun as it is; I want them to be Goliath. I'm willing to wait a bit to get there (cough, five-year plan, cough) but perpetual mediocrity doesn't sound appealing.
