I think they'll win. Beating another shit team and giving people hope before reverting back to the mean seems pretty Uniony.

    Weather should be nice, too.

I think Columbus is much better than people are giving them credit for... I think they beat Montreal today fairly easily and then destroy the Union backline next week.

Yeah they’re a step up from the Revs. If CJ does his miss water if he fell out of a boat accuracy, could be very tight.

    2-2 draw

I agree that the Crew are better then we expected, though their backline is still leaky. They were very fortunate not give up 2-3 goals against TFC. Jozy had a couple of glaring misses, and Gio hit the post.

Berhalter, like Curtin, doesn't adjust his formation/system. That tends to hurt them at times, and also leads to the Crew shipping a lot of goals.

Much more of a test than NER. On our side I guess this will be Dockal's debut and that alone is reason for hope.

Columbus won't win 3 in a row to start the season. Union ride another good all-around performance, but we end up in a 2-2 draw.

Zardes with a late winner as he continues to keep the Crew in Columbus.

I watched most of the game. Columbus looked great in the first half and then allowed Montreal to creep back into the game in the second half. It was very Union-esque. The late penalty was lucky.

I predict a breezy and cloudy tailgate. We won't need to put the tent up due to the lack of sunshine, but that's a positive since we won't have to worry about it getting blown over. I think the meat of choice will be burgers and spicy andouille sausage, cooked over charcoal (risky play, I know). Beer formation will include the standard IPAs and pale ales, with a couple of porters thrown in to mix things up. We'll get in a round or two of cornhole, and it won't be too windy to raise the flagpole this time. I'm envisioning a pretty successful day.

Oh, then I guess the Union will have an uneventful tie game at some point... :p

Anyone read/see/learn anything about the scrimmages that the Union had over the weekend? I'm interested to know whether Dockal and Herbers played with the first team.

Sure, no problem to hold on to a lead at home to Columbus. Never gone wrong before.

So, I'm going to be the Season Ticket Member of the Game for Saturday's game. Not that exciting other than the fact that I get to have my picture taken with the starting XI.

I think that @aztec21bas had this a while back. Anyone else?

It came about the same way that Mike Pompeo is becoming Secretary of State: publicly support lunacy but make it seem reasonable. It's called gaslighting. You think I really believe all of the hyperbole I spew about the team? It's all part of a quid pro quo.

Honestly, I just became friendly with my ticket rep and it's his turn to choose someone I guess. I went from 2 to 4 seats this season, referred a couple of people to him for tickets and have just been generally friendly.

Less and less season ticket holders to choose from, I'm bound to be picked for something sooner or later.

I did win a Heather Mitts signed ball once that took them 6 months to get to me... so... there's that.
