FC Cincinnati acquires MLS Cup champion Greg Garza from Atlanta United December 11, 2018, 2:29PM EST Tom Bogert FC Cincinnati trade for 2018 starter Spencer Richey December 9, 2018, 3:06PM EST Benjamin Baer Richey was on loan to CIN(USL) from VAN this past season.
They got an international roster spot back. They then traded that to Vancouver for Kendall Waston. Final result: Van: 50k GAM (MLS), int slot (COL) FCC: Waston (VAN) COL: Kamara (VAN via FCC)
FC Cincinnati acquire midfielder Victor Ulloa from FC Dallas December 12, 2018, 1:37PM EST Tom Bogert FC Cincinnati sign Polish goalkeeper Przemyslaw Tyton December 13, 2018, 2:07PM EST Sam Stejskal At this rate, their roster should be bigger than the Revs roster by New Year's Day next week.
So far I like what they are doing. Ulloa, Garza, Adi, Watson are all solid MLS players. The new Polish Keeper looks to be a good addition as well
They seem unlikely to be a pushover team in season 1. Also they averaged over 20k fans a match in USL, I can only image their attendance for MLS games
Welcome to the new MLS. Where Minnesota United will go down as the last truly bad expansion team. At least in the old days we could count on being better than at least someone, but now, you have to do more than just show up with 11 guys.
With this becoming official, that puts FCC at 20 players by my count. The Revs are at 21 (including the re-signing of Agudelo).
Cincinnati "continue to have interest" in US international Fabian Johnson December 12, 2018, 1:36PM EST Tom Bogert Johnson would require using an allocation. Cincy is at the top of the allocation list. Toronto recently traded up to the 2nd slot (with SJ) and plan to use it on Laurent Ciman.
FC Cincinnati to acquire defender Alvas Powell from Portland December 26, 2018, 6:04PM EST Alicia Rodriguez If you had Dec 26th as the date Cincy's roster size caught up to the Revs, you win! Both are now at 21 players.
FC Cincinnati acquire Nick Hagglund from Toronto FC for $300K allocation January 23, 2019, 5:35PM EST Tom Bogert This brings Cincy's roster to 26. The Revs have 24.
Mike Burns will tell you that the "FC" in FC Cincinnati stands for "Foolish Choices". After all, with so many players filling up their roster this early - in the pre-season, no less - the newbies in "The Queen City" are going to have no room to maneuver during the summer transfer window. And that is when Mike "Wheeler-Dealer" Burns is going to have the upper-hand! Mike Burns... he's always 4 to 5 steps ahead of everyone else.
To be fair, the Revs are still ahead of some teams. Like the LA Galaxy, who only have 22 on the roster and still have to get rid of one of their 4 DPs.
Is it just me or does it feel like there is more transactions happening this year? I know it is pre-season and this is when there is a flurry of activity. Just feel like every time I go to MLS site, it seems there is new article about homegrown, new loan, new deal, rumored deal, etc. More than the past.
