    7-0 FT

The US easily dispatch of a South American opponent.

They win their group stage group by going 5-0-0 with a +37 GD.

The US will now move onto a 3 team qualification round group with Honduras and Costa Rica. The top 2 teams qualify for the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, and the group winner also advances to the 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Championship final.

The US play Costa Rica next Friday (the 16th) at 7:30 eastern, and then face Honduras the second Monday from now (the 19th) at 7:30 eastern.

The Costa Rica - Honduras game is Tuesday (the 13th) at 7:30 eastern.

The US can now make up to 6 changes to their roster as well.

He does hit some nice through balls and has decent vision overall. I think that if he was going to play centrally, these were the games to look at him.

Pomykal was paired with Mendez centrally against T&T.

Did all the first place teams make it without losing a single game?

Currently none of the first place teams have a loss, though 3 of the 6 groups have their final round tomorrow. Mexico is the only current first place team with a draw (against Jamaica).

The US is the current goal difference leader. They are 13 better than Honduras who have the second best GD to date.

    The Honduras game worries me.

Is there a way Concacaf can avoid these pointless games and just seed US for the final stage?

And yet Tab will still be the coach.

I mean they could, but getting the smaller teams more games against the bigger teams has been a talking point for a while from CONCACAF execs.

They almost got ride of the the hex for the 2018 WCQ cycle for instance.

I mean its not like they are gaining any additional revenue, and it's usual just a demoralizing lost for them too.

His normal position is as a #10. I never understood putting your most influential attacking player out of position to accommodate much worse players, but thats whats happening with Pomykal in this tournament.

You mean you think Tab is not the best coach?

    I agree. I think he’s hot garbage.

Out Mendez and Pomykal free to be close to each other and nothing else matters.

I don’t get why it’s hard for managers to grasp that good players play well together. It’s literally the logical conclusion. More than shape, get the best guys close to each other and you usually see good things happen. No matter what the other team tries.

I think tab used his tactics as an excuse for his lack of balls.

Is there a traditional #10 in a 4-3-3? He's played winger on both sides and one of the dual 8/10s. He's been fine. Would love to see him and Carleton together as the dual 8/10s with Sargent, Weah and Soto in front of them.
