Can we see some yellows now? They're just killing the guys we have on the right side.

Akinola taking one for the team I guess. It's only a yellow if an American fouls hard.

Ayo just did the exact same thing the sv&g guy did on the right side and Ayo gets a yellow and the sv&g guy didn’t.

Akinola's cross is spilled by the keeper and fall to Fontana. The SV&G defender can't clear Fontana's shot off the line.

4-0 US in the 81st minute

Penalty called after a handball on a Pomykal shot.

Fontana's pk is saved, but he finishes off the rebound.

    5-0 US 86th minute

Also Torres has been sent wide right after the double sub. Servania is the #6 and Fontana has been pushed forward.

Should've been a card for persistent kicking/punching. St Vincent is just manhandling on that side.

It reminds me of Karius' blunder. Different circumstances, of course, but right through the hands.

On the concacaf website it has Fontana with a hat trick. I probably would’ve said one of those was an own goal

    6-0 US FT

The US end the group stage against Suriname Friday at 5:30 eastern.

US need to not lose and blow their 17 goal difference advantage order to win the group and advance.

So anything better than a 9 goal loss.

OK in the half that I watched. Can't imagine how boring it was in the first half with no goals.

St. Vincent comes in with a +1 GD, leaves with a -5. Not bad.

I like that he did that.

Part of being a good team is having each other's back and letting the other teams know there will be consequences for hard fouls is a good thing.

The game sucked. The US looked bored. Took awhile for the floodgates to open but it's hard to quibble with 6-0, regardless of circumstance.

    Agreed.

The US could've used a little more retaliation in WCQ. I hope we have the team chemistry to see this at all levels. It's a team game, if someone gets knocked down, you respond. Don't be dirty, but don't be passive.

    Just IMO.

The USA got very nervous about the 30th minute when they hadn't scored. SVG players were dropping and time wasting everywhere. The Ref hardly added any time and showed no inclination to reign in the time wasting. Team was visibly frustrated going into the locker room.

Hard to know if some big tactical change was made at half or if the players calmed down. They scored so quickly and the goal calmed everyone down. The sub GK for SVG was not good to say the least.

I wonder if the several of the players that started this game are heading home after this round. If they don't know already, most of them must think they could be. A little added pressure on top of everything.

It is fascinating that the team is getting so much criticism for playing unattractive. Not saying they shouldn't be criticized. Just after Couva, you would think people would be all for the pragmatic. I think for the first 20, there was some attempt to play through, but the players out there maybe were not capable until SVG got tired. A little panic led to more long range, low probability, passes.
