A fact is a poster with handle Robert Borden has been posting in this forum. An opinion is "Borden character ruining another thread." Ironically, given your post, I don't share the latter opinion. Though if you so a search, you will learn I rarely use the term "troll" and when I do, it tends to be the definition for fishing. Give a moderator that is a strong fan of a US/MLS rival comes in and makes a bunch of factually inaccurate statements, It did make me wonder to the point that both definitions seemed appropriate.
This is analysis - expected goals 1.85 to .64. When ArsenalMetro wants to see someone with a "Dumbass" opinion, he just has to look in the mirror.
Some about US Raptors and Blue Jays players? My God...where's their pride? I guess De Rozan has no pride... Shame shame shame
Agreed, I still don't understand why people get all hot and bothered by winning the SS. If you win it and lose in the playoffs, just means your team is the biggest choker. Nothing exactly to be proud of, ask Pats fans if they're proud being undefeated in the regular season when they lost in the SB to the Giants. Do you think anyone will see that season as anything less than disappointing?
How does this thread somehow always devolve into a Canada debate... I'll be glad when this last game is over so I don't have to read random posts from Mexican trolls or Canadian diatribes anymore. On that note, go Toronto! (although they'll probably be leading 2-0 at the half and somehow manage to get a blown tire because that's so MLS)
All the US teams are eliminated and Toronto happens to be a Canadian team, representing Canada in this tournament...
Good morning! I see we have been this morning flinging handbags over such things as “real sports” and whether a league champion is the team that wins the regular season or the playoffs.. Well.. Good news! I’ve arrived to inform everyone that this is the CCL thread and NOT a thread about how league champions are determined, which ones are more important, or which ones are more valued by a majority of fans in a country/world. Thanks!
TFC adopting the same approach to Guadalajara as they did to America Vanney says he'll take similar approach in Houston re player selection as last week in Colorado. Some players will fly straight to Mexico from Toronto. Said he'll decide later today if he'll be in Houston or go straight to Mexico, but said he'd like to be in both. #TFC— John Molinaro (@JohnMolinaro) April 19, 2018 Vanney said Vazquez continues to improve. He'll travel to Mexico. Will he play on Wednesday? We'll see. #TFC— John Molinaro (@JohnMolinaro) April 19, 2018
TFC could really use an in form Vazquez but he has only played 53 min this season so seems optimistic to expect much.
According to their twitter, they seem focused on Atlas, they are calling it "al Clásico Tapatío". I expect at least some of their starters to play. Good players overperform expected goals. You can't just look at a statsheet and say "well that's that." Again, watch games and come up with reasoned analysis instead of just regurgitating shit someone else says. A monkey can do that. Anyway, that's some good rehashed argument from what, a week ago? Fun stuff.
Every game between Chivas and Atlas is called el Clásico Tapatío. Tapatío is a nickname for people from Guadalajara, not just a hot sauce.
Nationally and internationally I think the America/Chivas rivalry is better known, but Altas and Chivas have a pretty long history together - including groundsharing until Vergara built Estadio Akron. I shot a club friendly back in 2005 in Charlotte that was billed as the Copa Zapotec between Atlas and Tecos due to history of Zapotec migration to the area. In fact, I think UAG, and maybe Atlas are both located in Zapopan, the area of Guadalajara named for such. I think Chivas's new stadium is also in Zapopan. I'm sure our friends from south of the border (and not South of the Border) will correct what I've gotten wrong.
I was looking at Liga MX attendance info a few months ago and was surprised to discover that Atlas had more fans per game than Chivas in the Apertura. Seems that the trend has reversed in the Clausura though, for whatever reason.
