I know this was obvious, but it did happen today................. How is the agreement between @FCDallas and @FCBayern different than others in the past? Hear what @DanHuntFCD had to say (starts at 22:22) + more. https://t.co/V2aiRUtjHl— ESPN's Soccer Today (@ESPNSoccerToday) February 19, 2018
Sorry................that was supposed to be a different tweet. 🇺🇸🎂 Happy birthday, @joshsargent! The #U20WC 2017 adidas Silver Boot winner has signed his first professional contract with @werderbremen_en. Congrats! pic.twitter.com/g7rc2YFeDc— FIFA (@FIFAcom) February 20, 2018 Also, some rumor-mongering from Ian Joy at Fox Soccer that should lead to much gossiping. 966025614095298560 is not a valid tweet id My guess is that the "huge" in Ian Joy's tweet has double meaning. In other words, the news is huge but the player is also huge. So my guess is that its FCD's academy CB Chris Richards. Followers of this thread will remember that he was just in Germany with Corey Gibbs (an agent).
Italian paper has Pulisic at #2 and Adams at #58...................... Think about that. It doesn't mean anything, but a European ranking (in other words not pro-USA) has an American youngster as the second best prospect born after 1998. That's incredible............even if it doesn't mean anything. We might underestimate Adams on these boards because we've seen so much of him. La Gazzetta dello Sport have published a list of their Top 98 talents born in 1998 or later.Kylian Mbappé (19) leads the line. ⭐️ pic.twitter.com/zoZGR6lR7L— SCOUTED (@scoutedftbl) February 21, 2018
We heard Reyna was looking for an Italian passport and Joy follows NYFC and Bayern. He doesn't seem like he has contacts at Schalke, which is where most, if not all, of Gibb's clients go.
Still not getting first team opportunities, but at least seems to be doing well with Benfica B. 967867532462968838 is not a valid tweet id
Unfortunately for Parks Benefica has gone 18 league games without a loss. No coach ever is going to bench the guys who are playing for a kid in that situation. Especially since they're 2 points behind Porto for the title. Injuries or the race already being done one way or the other seems to be the only option for him the rest of this season. That said there is a ton of rumbling that while Benefica can and has bossed the league they went winless in CL group play and will be making changes this offseason. Don't be surprised if they sell a midfielder or two and make a permanent bench spot available for Parks and Gedsen.
Breakout youngster? Reggie Cannon, #2, 19, FC Dallas. 1 minute last year and 2018’s starting RB. Let’s see what he can do.
Don't rush Keaton into the NT. He's far from a complete player right now (plays no defense), and he's barely played any first team games. He has big potential, but some caution here could be wise.
As far as benching a player, that is not necessary for him to get minutes. If Benfica felt he was close enough to the first team level they could find ways to get him at least semi-regular minutes. I would guess that at least some of those 18 games were not nail biters to the end. He could have come on for the last 15-30 minutes. If he gets 15-30 minutes in half of those games 200+ minutes could be pretty valuable. Of course if Benfica feels he isn't ready for that amount of time perhaps he isn't as close as some feel.
Yup. I would have no problem if the USMNT brought him into a camp, but there's also no reason to think he's at the same level as a Weston McKennie. Not yet anyway. At this point what do good performances in the Portuguese 2nd division mean for a 20 year old? I'm always cautiously optimistic................... Keaton Parks is older than Weston McKennie and Tyler Adams. He's not a 17 year old prospect. Its going to be interesting to see what Benfica does with him this off-season. Hopefully he's fully promoted to the first team, but we'll see. As far as MLS goes, I think that's a really good shout. As the season begins there aren't many new guys born 1997 or later that have seemingly won starting jobs. Cannon is one of them, and seeing as there's really no other natural right back on the FCD roster................they're seemingly going to give him a lot of leash. I'm also really intruiged by what I've seen from Auston Trusty. He's been on the backburner has far as U20 CBs because the level of others (CCV, EPB, Glad, etc.) has been so high. But Auston Trusty may have won a starting job in Philadelphia. He's a 98. Will he be the youngest routine starter in MLS? Maybe.......................and I've liked what I've seen this preseason. Kinda depends what happens with Carleton. An injury on the offensive end for Atlanta, and I think Carleton is the one to move into the starting XI.
In case folks didn't see this in other forums........... Durkin turned 18 this month. So he can now move to Europe if DCU gets an offer they like. [Worth noting that he turned 18 after the close of the January transfer window. So the first available window for him to move is in July.] Not sure how much weight this has behind it right now, but a source told me over the winter that Benfica had already tabled an offer close to $1 mil. Durkin looked solid in DCU training yesterday. Some MLS minutes this spring might increase his exposure. https://t.co/CwHus0Jc7n— Charles Boehm (@cboehm) February 28, 2018

I thought Glad was fantastic! That kid is the next young American centerback to make his way to Europe. What exactly is the difference between Glad and Miazga at this age? I don't know.
According to reports, he came on in 80th minute. Looked good and had a chance at a goal on a breakaway on the left but blasted it right at the keeper. Upon review, it looks like he could have squared it to a guy who was open near the spot. Regardless, getting minutes for PSG will be a good thing.
LA Galaxy have signed Efrain Alvarez to a homegrown deal. This is a fantastic prospect that's represented both Mexico and USA at the youth levels. Even if he ends up representing Mexico, he's a homegrown MLS player. [Like Jesse Gonzalez, I always have more faith in a youngster representing the USMNT if they stay in MLS.] ✍️NEWS: #LAGalaxy sign midfielder @efrain_alvarez1: https://t.co/MnUz4Smrld pic.twitter.com/pVHmuZdfGT— LA Galaxy (@LAGalaxy) March 4, 2018
marco farfan was realllly bad last night. too bad. he had an opportunity to stake a claim with vytas injured.
Yet another youngster to keep an eye on in Europe.................. 2017 U.S. U-17 midfielder and #RBNY product Chris Gloster signs with Hannover in Germany. https://t.co/nHlTWn3GKl— Brian Sciaretta (@BrianSciaretta) March 7, 2018
What? Am I missing some obvious joke? Is my sarcasm meter broken? The kid is makings some progress for Mexico, let him play with Mexico. He's 15 years old.
I like Fontana (Phili) and Mines (NYRB) to be the next attacking youngsters to break through as possible future January camp invitees, They look very polished for their age. I also agree that Trusty (Phili) is a very promising CB, fast and at 6'3 looks pretty good to me.
I did not know where else to put this but I just heard Brian Dunseth of Fox Sports mention that Weston Mckennie is versatile enough for Schalke to play Defensive midfield and even CB. For those of you who have been following his career closely is this true or is he exaggerating? Is this kid really that dynamic? Making it seem like he can be the next Jermaine Jones.
Not only do I think He’s that versatile, I think He’s got much more talent than Jones. McKennie is suited for the 6, but can play the 8 or if need Be slide back and step in at CB. I prefer him as a 6 though because he’s very aggressive. Kid is the real deal, you don’t see a lot of 6s getting time at that age. Usually older more experienced guys play that spot
If I remember correctly Jones was a very good player in his mid to late 20s for Schalke helping them go to Champions Leagues If this kid has more talent and has the potential to be better than him then it makes me very excited.
He’s got that potential. You can name on one hand the 18 year olds getting time at the 6 for a top 3 side in a major 5. In fact, I cant Name another
