No wonder considering that the best Japanese FW nowadays scored 10+ goals in a league season only once. In J League. Let's not even call him a FW now, he's not there to score goals in his club. More like a link between MF and someone else who has to score. There are literally no Japanese forwards after Okazaki declined and he was the only noticable Japanese FW in the past decade. A 10+ goals per season forward in the so called Top 4 European leagues would be best and with such a player out there I doubt Yuya would be even considered a starter in JNT. And if he would it would be more like a right wing.
If only he played for Urawa Reds ... Takahara, Okazaki or Morimoto, three strikers with excellent European scoring records at their time, three massive flops at the World Cup. Stats are just one factor amongst many others.
Assist. Subbed in the second half in Werder Bremen’s away match against Borussia Monchengladbach. The goal Osako assisted was the equalise which earned Bremen a crucial away draw against a direct competitor for potential Europa League spots.
His assist: https://sdcom.veuclips.com/embed/RfR3oWJn2W?autoplay=1&htmlplayer=1 3 goals and 2 assists so far this season, not too bad considering he was forced to miss 3 months of the season due to his injury in the Asian Cup and the aggravated injury he suffered from afterwards, and considering he is mostly playing as a right attacking-midfielder or second-striker.

Scored a beautiful goal to give his team a 1-0 lead. 1168157339771269120 is not a valid tweet id He scored so far 3 goals in 4 matches this season (2 in the league and 1 in the cup). He is doing well in terms of goalscoring, let’s hope Bremen’s defence will stop conceding easy goals.
2 beautiful goals from Osako as Werder Bremen recorded their first league win of the season. 4 goals in 4 matches (3 goals in 3 matches in the league, and 1 in 1 in the cup). Nuri Sahin played like he get used to play during his early years at Borussia Dortmund, completely bossing the midfield with a masterful contribution to the attack and great linkage between the lines. The Swiss right full-back Lang they got on-loan from Borussia Monchengladbach is a good addition. While the left full-back Friedl is poor both defensively and offensively, squandered many crosses and offensive opportunities, and caused Bremen to concede one goal (My wishful thinking: let’s hope Bremen get a Japanese player in his place).
He looks pumped! Great to hear he's on a flying start to the season. I think he's played pretty well in past seasons, but he never put up significant numbers. He's going that this season he'll rack up some stats.
In the post match interview that was televised he stated that he took over responsibility after the two losses and wants to contribute many goals. Looks like he wants to be a positive influence not only on the team but also the audience.
https://goals2.viuclips.net/player/html/02imkB5ScN?popup=yes&autoplay=1 Two nice goals. Lets hope that this season he can be consistent with the goalscoring.
