The two footed lunge tackle on the rapidly approaching Ajax midfielder was simply dangerous ... that fact that he actually made contact ( stomping with both feet on the guys foot ) makes it even worse ... the ref didn’t book him either ! That ‘tackle’ was a just a few minutes after he’d bodychecked Frankie De Jong ... throwing him into he air where he own legs were above his head !! Again no yellow !! There’s using your head and just being too lenient / soft imho .. I still believe the ref ruined the Spain v Holland World Cup final by being far too lenient letting the Dutch guys literally kick the sh1T out of the Spanish players ... that day there were two hitmen van Bommel and de Jong ..
So when do we give this guy his second yellow/red card for continuing to gripe about officiating without any substantive analysis?
Two things. First, you seem to have forgotten the studs onto the thigh/knee of the Spurs player from the Ajax player a little before the Sissoko caution. This was an easy yellow card, bordering on red. Brych went with a simple foul and the reaction was minimal--people moved on. But if you're going to start picking apart challenges that were not fully sanctioned, that went both ways. Regardless, none of these are expected SFP red cards in the UCL right now. Nothing was out of the ordinary. The calls you're asking for would have been extraordinary. Second, and more importantly... You might want to stop swinging by the referee forum. When you're randomly bringing up matches from nine years ago, the mask comes off your trolling a little easier. You've been warned before. Consider yourself warned again.
It's Skomina in a runaway, if you're setting realistic odds. Everything points in his direction. Skomina and Rocchi are the two top eligible Elite referees who did not get any semifinal matches. So signs point to them having the two Finals. Two things point to Skomina on UCL: first, he has already had UEL; second, he was kept off all UCL QF matches (like Mazic was last year). If there's some reason why UEFA doesn't want Skomina on this match, your dark horses are Mateu Lahoz, who is available because Barcelona didn't qualify and Turpin, just because he's the best younger referee with VAR experience who didn't get a UCL semi. But those are very dark dark horses. There appears to be absolutely no reason why it is not Skomina.
The yellow for the keeper was at 90+4:15ish. It was right before the restart that led to the goal at 90+5
Yeah, I think the yellow meant Brych was going to 95:15-30 no matter what. My impression, however, was that Onana had done enough delaying from 45:00-90:00 for Brych to warrant tacking on a minute or so. You don't add time just when you caution for timewasting.
Skomina should get it just cause he looks the best out of all the referees. Not that he's handsome, but he's got a nice bod, and I respect that.
Ha, yes, that imaginary offence you've been sanctioned for seven times on this site. I am so old and out of touch. Or young and juvenile. Or perfectly middle-aged. One of those, I'm sure. Regardless, I would consider modifying my behavior if I were you.
Wow - seven times? How has he not just been permanently banned? Is there a way to ignore certain posters, because this guy would definitely be one of those I wouldn't mind missing.
The odd thing is I only started to come in this thread as it’s for chat about refereeing decisions.. one of my weaker areas I admit .. and just expected to get a few thoughts from people ‘in the know ‘ . Sadly it’s just felt like a kinda witch-hunt . ..
Didn’t watch today’s games with great attention. Thought Hategan was shaky during normal time but improved as the match wore on. I think Azpilicueta’s challenge was SFP, but looks like it’s going to take cold blooded murder to get a straight red this year in European competition.
