Also looks like they've signed Carlos Coronel (GK) from RB Salzburg. He is on the pre-season roster with an actual number as opposed to another player that is on trial that doesn't have one.

The amount that FCC gave up for Hagglund is ridiculous, IMHO. A month ago TFC gave San Jose $75k GAM and $75k TAM to move from 6th in the allocation order to 2nd in the allocation order, then a second round draft pick to move from 2nd to 1st to get Cimon. Even if we accept that a move from 24th in the allocation order to the top of the allocation order is the same as a move from 6th to the top, FCC just said that Hagglund is worth $400k GAM/TAM and a 2nd round draft pick.. That's nuts.

The only thing I can imagine is that FCC was given outrageous amounts of garber bucks that needed to be spent.

FCC did get an outrageous amount of Garber bucks ($2 million GAM, $1.2 million TAM), but they have 2 seasons to spend it all and they could have spent it better. Burning the equivalent of $400k on Hagglund is just nuts. The probably could have gotten him for half that, or just done a straight up Hagglund for Allocation spot trade.

Really hoping to see at least one or two TAM level signings or better yet a DP signing for FCC. Did a quick analysis and best I can tell their payroll at this point is only in the $7 to 7.5mln range. They are very thin in attack and on the wings. Still four or so roster spots, but I’m pretty underwhelmed.

On the other side of the trade, this is a VERY savvy bit of business in Curtis’ first major act as GM. Vasquez was a big loss for TFC, but they now have a bunch of allocation money freed up from that transfer and now more from this one, plus the #1 allocation spot. Fabian Johnson was being whispered about for Cinci.... perhaps they gave up and.....

I'd go with death. Only because you defense defended about as well as corpses for the past two years.
