A dream come true for tactics afficianados like you and me! Sadly I’ll be celebrating my birthday so I’ll miss it. I’ll toast you though and await your match report. Hopefully you’ll allow me to pay you back someday soon.
Dueling masterclasses from the two greatest managers in the Premier League. Gomes already eliminated Klopp from a Cup, and earned a draw from Pep and took Pep to PK's in another competition. Do you even like Chelsea? How can you be so negative about a team you support?
Yep. For over 20 years now. Same answer as the 3 dozen other times you asked, James. But, my lad, this is the Euro Leagues thread. As I said this role reversal we seem to be in right now brings me so much cosmic happiness. I would love to see you step outside, enjoy the sunshine, show a modicum of self awareness (and perhaps humility for once), and feel the same joy. It’s hilarous by any measure. Choose joy.
I get my joy from watching my local team live. You should try it sometime. I have different expectations for Chelsea and having disinterested players and a manager that subs in a left back when losing isn’t meeting those expectations.
Thanks for the rec, I see Kingston Stockade several times a year! I take back what I said about your humility. It does take a certain level of humility to play a character who's defining character trait is willful ignorance as you have chosen here. Again, I underestimated you James!
Big day today as Claudio Ranieri marks his second return to Roma as Roma faces a must win game against Empoli. I made no secret of my admiration for Eusebio Di Francesco. I think he's a good manager and can be a very good manager, but Roma is the most difficult club in the world to manage and he probably just wasn't ready and eaten alive. (You may think that the most difficult club in the world to manage is hyperbole, but take it up with Gab Marcotti as he said it on last week's ESPN FC Serie Awesome podcast). Ranieri has come in saying all the right things. He himself is a Romanista. He's refers to "noi tifosi" or us fans/we fans in his opening presser. He speaks of how when Roma calls he can't say no. He talks of a lifetime as a fan. He makes the extremely bold statement that winning the Premier League with Leicester would have been overshadowed had his 2009/2010 team found a way to close out the last 30 against Sampdoria instead of pulling a Roma and allowing Inter to win the title. After a few years of Spalletti's fragile ego mania and Eusebio Di Francesco's crisis of personality it's refreshing to see and here Claudio back home. At this point Roma has 13 games left. It's not likely Ranieri is gonna bring any huge tactical changes though we likely see a 4-4-2 and perhaps Shick and Dzeko together up top once Dzeko returns from suspension. What we need more than anything is a spirit of togetherness and a belief. Similar to what Gattuso has brought to Milan (with about 1/4 as much talent in defense). I've moved away from my tears for EDF. I'm no longer look back with sadness, but with joy that his tenure happened at all. And today, noi tifosi are all behind Cladio and our pack of wolves. DAJE CLAUDIO!!! DAJE ROMA DAJE!!!
Allegri masterclass. Bernadeschi, Pjanic, Spinazolla, and of course Ronaldo flawless. ******** every last one of them.
Is this poor showing in Europe by the clubs and the World Cup performance gonna spark another Das Reboot? I watched Kovac manage Croatia, I have no idea why people thought he was a good choice for Bayern Munich, but whatever....
It better. But Jogi is getting flack for dropping some of the older guys like Mueller in the past week or so. He's "been called in to explain", which is never a good sign. But Schalke--it's like they didn't even care.
Barca gets yet another soft penalty. Suarez steps on a defender, then falls down grabbing his ankle. No explanation why VAR wasn't used. I have no idea why they can't issue suspensions going forward.
Report: Roma have initiated contact with Sarri https://t.co/ZSg6TDIK91— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) March 14, 2019 The prelude to @stanger and I breaking bread together and having the most loving bro hug in the history of hugs.....
Well Schalke's coach got fired today. Then their fans who went to the game had insult added to injury when they flew home--the plane was painted in the color and logos of their arch rivals, Borussia Dortmund.... http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/..._schalke-fans-mussten-bvb-flieger-nehmen.html The plane's in regular revenue service on the Eurowings airline....
But, hey, Schalke's hosting another Columbus viewing party on April 6: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fc-sch...edium=email&utm_campaign= Newsletter_KW10_USA
There must be a big Schalke fan with $$$ somewhere in Columbus.... That's twice they've done something like this. And that's game's likely to be a disaster. Frankfurt is playing some decent soccer right now.
