Our city has never hosted a Cup Final. Via the USOC we can have that chance before MLS playoffs are even remotely close to starting. How well could our fans n supporters pull off a great walk out, (recibimiento si eres lo de espanyol), what a night that would be at BBVA!
2017 Canadian Championship Championship Round First Leg Wednesday, June 21 Montreal v. Toronto 6:30 pm Second Leg Tuesday, June 27 Toronto v. Montreal 6:30 pm If Montreal wins the series, the two teams will have a one-game playoff on August 9 to determine who gets the CCL slot for that tournament next spring.
Nope, first time. Crew fan from around Columbus, but have always wanted to get out to some other stadiums and experience what others have.
USOC games are always really historically low attended in Houston. Buy the cheapest ticket and bring your cleats...you may get to play.
Typically how it is up here too for those games, but I don't have to worry about that anymore this year...
watched most if the game last night Holland Memo Remick Sanchez were very good Ward / Byrd have been good for the RGV and were good last night except for too many turnovers in our third / getting dispossed / errant passes. I haven't seen this much in RGV games but it happened last night. Other wise they were all over the field and did well two ways. Garcia had some trouble with the speedy Jamaican first half but he was pretty solid Anibaba was dominant and Hunter complemented him well I am usually not a big fan of Escalante but he created some chance late for Luna and Wenger that shouldnhave been goals Willis didn't play very good. Took a step in the wrong direction on the Free kick. They said there was a deflection but it didn't alter the direction of flight willis just got beat. Wenger played forward - got a goal busted his ass all game, pressured turnovers for us, hit the post. BUT (see next post)
He gets all these chances and blows them. Shoots off target, shoots straight at keeperthe, not quick w the feet and its knocked away, hits the post etc etc I just don't think he is a 9 and I don't know if he will ever be a high level MLS winger His strengths are his size, speed, smarts, work rate and his left foot. I think he could really excel is as a two way midfielder in a 442 or as a defender. Certainly we will play him as an outside mid when Cubo is gone and Mauro moves up to Winger in the 433. OTO maybe he just needs Quito and Elis out wide while playing the holding forward spot instead of Mauro (who still gets pushed around due to his size). It certainly has made Cubo look better.
There is a tweet from the USSF that the Houston-Kansas City game will be on Wednesday, June 28, starting at 5:30 pm. It would appear that KC wouldn't move the game to Tuesday so they are trying to get the Dynamo game done before the Mexico game at NRG later than night. This isn't going to help. EDIT: I didn't realize it but there is a Dash home game that night. That explains the start time.
A USOC match on a midweek with a kickoff of 5:30 in a city with tremendous traffic issues on the same night the women's team has a home fixture. Might as well play this game at Butler Stadium and allow all season ticket holders to get in for free and then sell the other seats for a buck. At least kickoff can be set for later and there is the chance people that WANT to go will be able to get to the match and for free/a dollar. At least folks from Central and SW Houston, Ft. Bend County, Pearland Dynamo fans n supporters. Which is where a lot of us live.

Some people think it will be a big turnout We had games like that at Robertson too, not a lot of fans but they were fun. Once it was pouring just before the game too. People will go.— Web 🕸 Tilton ☮️🚴🏼 (@webtilton) June 20, 2017 We'll never really know because they will count the Dash attendance but that is a "less than 1,000 people" attending event at 5:30 on a Wednesday same night as a Mexico game in town
