Sorry, no. As impressed as I've been w/Calistri, I'd choose Solignac all day, every day over him. Far better for him to play 90 every game (last game not withstanding), than to be stapled to the bench here. He will have the opportunity to compete for time next season (as will CFer).
Tulsa FC v OKC Energy U23s @ 7 pm this evening in US Open play. Great opportunity for Dekovic to get significant tick. Bronico too. Wouldn't surprise me if CFer and Calistri are rested (which means they'll probably play 90).
5-3 win last night. Tulsa was up 5-0. Calistri and Fernandez started. Haven't watched the entire game yet, so don't know if they wen the full 90. Announcers gushing over the two Fire loanees. CFer with great through ball assist. Tulsa dominated possession. USL game Saturday night at Sacramento.
Bronico recalled. Why the hell was he loaned out at all? My Occam's Razor guess: Dekovic got injured, the Fire saw a window to get Bronico a little time, so they loaned him and now Dekovic is close to being back. So, with the 3 player loan affiliate relationship, Bronico's the odd man out. That's what I want to believe, at least. Dovetails with my view that the Fire are the cheapest of cheap bastards.
Sacramento Republic FC vs. Roughnecks FC Saturday, May 20 KICKOFF - 9:30PM CDT Streams have been uniformly good. Tonight's match: http://www.uslsoccer.com/sacramentorepublicfc-tulsaroughnecksfc-905559
Tulsa crapped the bed last night, 3-2 Sacramento. Defending: no bueno. Had a 1-0 lead early. Gave up 2 in 2 minutes midway through the 1st. Tied it early in the 2nd. Calistri played the entire 90. Scored on beautiful cross. Was dangerous throughout. VG game. CFer was a DNP. Ugh! No clue there, other than Tulsa has a quick turnaround. Dekovic was not in the 18. Stream was a lot worse than normal. Mebbe due to my ISP, was sporadic yesterday. Next game: Wednesday @ Reno.
Tulsa plays @ Reno @ 9:30 CT tonight. Reno is hotter than that Gal Gadot chick. Sure hope CFer starts today. This loan arrangement: not ideal.
Tulsa beat Vancouver 2 Saturday nigh, 3-1. Bronico and Cleveland were loaned to Tulsa. Jiggly will be happy to learn that Cleveland got the start. Didn't watch the game. Calistri and CFer started.
Didn't sound like Cleveland had a good game, but then again Tulsa's defense ain't the Fire's (wow, I can't believe I just said that).
haha, totally understand where you're coming from. As a squad player, I have no ill will for Harrington. Barring hella bad luck, he won't see the pitch again. The Harrington era is over, thankfully. Our USL affiliate is solely for kids, keepa youse hands off!
The important thing isn't where the players on loan are right now but how well they progress on their learning curve throughout the USL season. If they make significant progress, they may be able to be part of the Fire's future.
Tulsa advances to 4th round of US Open. Beat the USL leaders, San Antonio, on PKs. Calistri and Fernandez played the entire 120. FC Dallas next. http://www.roughnecksfc.com/news_article/show/798956?referrer_id=2723911
Tulsa dropped their 4th round US Open match to FCD, 1-2. Dallas scored in stoppage time. Calistri & Fernandez started.
I don't know what kind of role Fernandez and Calistri will have next year (with the Fire), but I do know that they are both going to be much better prepared to play for us, after getting tons of minutes with Tulsa.
Which is why we should have an USL team of our very own. Maybe in Milwaukee or Rockford or Peoria or Madison. Somewhere that we might be able to occasionally see them play. Why hasn't Anyone ever suggested that?
Plenty to be angry about. Imagine being able to dole out minutes to an entire roster as you see fit. Imagine having your staff in place, in sync with the big club and giving detailed reports on player development. As opposed to loaning 3 guys out to our affiliate. Sounds about even, amirite? All Nrod and Cakes think about are the costs. Effing arseholes!
Well the USL is currently expanding again with a 3rd Division league by 2019 (http://www.usld3.com/). If we were smart as an organization we would be all over it trying to put a team in Milwaukee or Madison or Rockford or wherever.
