I'm told the New England Revolution have hired #USMNT legend Brad Friedel as their new head coach. #NERevs #MLS : https://t.co/W5I0Qgw0wC— Ives Galarcep (@SoccerByIves) November 7, 2017
Okay, here is the one thing I like about the Galaxy:An #LAGalaxy Thanksgiving pic.twitter.com/N70c0qzMuW— LA Galaxy (@LAGalaxy) November 21, 2017
Not that any of us much care given the current circumstances, but today is Contract Deadline Day (woohoo!). You can get all the earth-shattering contract optioning and declines at MajorLeagueSoccerSoccer.com. There's also a tracker that gives all (ha!) the details.
the league has revealed four finalists for the first two expansion spots, which will be announced before the end of the year: Cincinnati Detroit Nashville Sacramento The finalists will make presentations to the league's Expansion Committee and Commissioner Don Garber on Dec. 6, and the MLS Board of Governors meeting on Dec. 14 will include additional discussions on expansion with ownership representatives from every team.
Is there a need to make another presentation at this point or does MLS brass like watching people kiss their ass for the sake of it?
I love that Expansion has become less about what city is ready and who has the best shot at a successful team and more about who will kiss Sleazy Don's a$$ the most.
I'm sure they are seething right now. But they may be taking a measured approach, since they are technically still in the mix for the next round.
USL ahead??? 6CS Cleveland @6CSCleveland BREAKING: looks like @AFCCleveland is officially out of @NPSLSoccer for the 2018 season. - We have confirmation that they will play a 2018 season, but we do not know in what league.
I'm struggling to think of a trade in history as bad for nearly every party involved as today's MTL/LAFC deal. Thorrington and Bradley are either insensitive, incompetent, or maybe both. In other words, perfect for MLS.
HHmmmm.... I hate MLS more and more everyday now I got told last night that I wasn’t allowed to be TAM player. Hoping @MLS will release the list of players not eligible to be TAM, so players can know the conditions they’re entertaining the re-entry draft on. #blacklist #mls #playersunion #transparency— David Ousted (@David_Ousted) December 15, 2017
Does that simply mean the team didn't want to spend more money on him or is he saying there is a league wide rule that would exclude him?
Dude was arguably the best gk in the league for a couple of years. Bit harsh to call him a 'recycled player'.
