Spoiler alert (highlight) may have been nice, although somewhat predictable from what I saw in the first half. I was here catching up during the halftime commentary on the dvr ... I will still for whatever sick car-crash reason watch the second half.
As long as we're spoilering stuff, the USWNT: Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler I know they're experimenting with formations and the backline in particular, but YEESH. Ok, we get it, day in women's soccer with the (US) women not showing up, please come back!
One of the coolest things I've seen in a while, fan made jerseys for each state: http://imgur.com/a/W1Les#mCpQOQc
Several newer faces rotating through, love her or hate her Solo was not in goal, played disinterested looking soccer in the whole tournament and may have been lucky to still be in the hunt for the top spot at the start of the last match although France only needed a draw (but did not play disinterested). In the past this squad may have rose to that challenge with a strong game but not in this instance. Single data point (the tournament) or trend line back to the crash out of the Olympics? Seems like by how Sermanni was treated Jill should be gone now? Based on the Men's team that should also mean we get Pia back. ;>)
I suppose Ellis gets some slack for winning the World Cup. It's a weird point in the cycle, right? Nothing's really going on? Early stages of World Cup qualifying should be a walk, right?
Mix heads to Sweden (MLS loan). https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017/03/10/mix-diskerud-joins-swedish-club-ifk-goteborg-loan
Pretty cool Messi pic from Champions League game celebration Obviously not my pic or am I trying to take credit for but no info listed for it.
Somehow I careless for who he would play for coming to MLS needs to happen. LA Galaxy has offered Zlatan Ibrahimović a contract to join this summer & be highest-paid player in MLS history https://t.co/0HTCQ2RP7t— Subscribe to GrantWahl.com (@GrantWahl) March 8, 2017
Thoughts on the Arsene Wenger thing? This seems to happen every year. I don't monitor the news consistently year over year...is the backlast/protest more intense this year? I suppose to keep Wenger would seem to settle for not being a real title contender, but it could also easily be worse. ManUtd and Liverpool are both not winning titles and missing the champions league for the most part. I watch them a lot, but more or less as a neutral fan. I like watching the style Wenger's teams play, but am not crushed by things like the annual thumping by Bayern Munich. So I'll be sad when he leaves, but I'm sure that's a big difference from what a lot of fans would feel. (I'm sure many fans would be sad, but feel it was a necessary change.)
After their UCL second leg match w/ Munchen I was going to post something about KSE honoring their contracts; any other Manager, any other EPL team, ...
Really can't see them giving AW a new contract, could be good for Rapids if AW was behind the zero real support (they couldn't even bother visiting on USA tour) for co-owed Rapids.
If you enjoy the slip sliding away of orange ball 'snow' games there's one on ESPN2 right now. So far the southerners are doing okay up north -- considering where they are I wonder if they will clear the snow at the half, or just paint in a blue line? ;>)
Jeff Rueter@jeffrueter Commissioner Garber confirms that Los Angeles FC will enter without an expansion counterpart in 2018. #MLS
I turned that Min-ATL game on at halftime, pretty comical stuff! Classic way to start weatherwise for MinU
MNU's starting goal keeper, John Alvbage, was also stretchered off. His backup, Bobby Shuttleworth, is an MLS veteran though.
