Usually RFO response to crap on field performance, leak targets who choose elsewhere. http://www.burgundywave.com/2017/5/...-gudelj-brown-ideye-olunga-christian-bassagog
lol- very weak, he defends his International signing but pointing to a MLS league article about why it's so hard to trade. Apple's to Pears is very weak sauce. The reason Colorado is not an easy sell is solely a KSE organization (and who they hire) issue too.
There actually are two myths in the article. The first is the perpetual fisherman's myth of "the one that got away." The second is the myth that one signing will convert the Rapids from spoon contenders to cup contenders.
Notice that Arsenal fans here the same stuff from Wenger https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2710573.amp.html
Not looking like it will be getting any better, even if they do sign someone in summer window they still have to get match fit and develop chemistry with no skill team mates. 2018 is the earliest things could turn around and RFO just used up their luck last year for the next decade.
@JasonMa posted this after Wednesday's loss: In 5 of the 7 Rapids losses this year the Rapids opponent has had equal or more goals than the Rapids have had shots on goal. I suggest we make this an official MLS stat and call it a "Jason". This way we'll lead the league in something...
If failure to make the Champions League results in a 10% season ticket price drop for Arsenal, failing to make the MLS playoffs should be worth what, 33%? Arsenal reduce season ticket prices by 10 per cent after failure to qualify for the Champions League next season https://t.co/gvAzcqIEkF— Mail Sport (@MailSport) May 22, 2017
Arsenal felt like they HAD to do SOMETHING, since they had made the Champions League about 1000 times in a row. Rapids would probably go the other way - surcharge for making the playoffs.
Huh, just got an email about a friendly between Club America and Santos Laguna on July 5. Based on past responses to LigaMX friendlies plus it being the day after the July 4, I'm guessing not many here will be interested in the game. I've followed Santos off and on since they came here in 2011 and blew the doors off the Rapids. They continue to be America's farm team, with their Argentine keeper Marchesin being the latest to transfer to America. Much different team than those classic CCL Santos clubs though. I think in the Apertura they drew half their matches before getting blown out in the first round of the playoffs.
Yup that's exactly what happened. I would normally be interested in a game like this but I cannot reward the Rapids for taking on a 2018 preseason mindset.
So it appears that if Rapids can figure out some way to score first, we have a chance to hold on for the win.
One thing is for sure, with all our attacking talent we have no chance of ever coming back for a win regardless defense or how many have been Red carded, etc.
Burling suspended for Columbus game: https://www.coloradorapids.com/post...ded-mls-disciplinary-committee-upcoming-match NEW YORK (May 30, 2017) – The MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended Colorado Rapids defender Bobby Burling for one game and issued an undisclosed fine for violent conduct in the 18th minute of Colorado’s match against Sporting Kansas City on May 27. Burling will serve the suspension during the Rapids’ match on Saturday, June 3 against Columbus Crew SC.
Could Club León’s Montes be interested in the Rapids? #Rapids96 https://t.co/NyguMSumP1 pic.twitter.com/4xPVtmO4hG— Burgundy Wave (@Burgundywave) May 31, 2017
Lots of questions on the potential signing of Montes from my perspective: Lots of questions to ponder whether with Montes or anyone else. Does he fit with what Pablo is wants to do long term both on the attach and in defense? If Pablo is dedicated to Mastronachio will Montes see much of the ball in the attacking third with options to distribute? Would he be a hard worker on defense? He's 31, so what maybe two seasons at the most he'd be at the top of his game? If the Rapids stay with a 4-4-2 would he be good in the middle with Azira behind him? Would he work better in another formation where there would be less pressure on him to defend? And finally, would he alone be enough of a difference maker to turn the Rapids fortunes around or do they need another top flight signing?
I just watched Pablo's rant on stats vs. spirit on MLS website...dude is a lunatic. It really hit home to me that he coaches this team with the same philosophy that he played. Playing with heart is everything to him. I don't think he will ever be convinced that some talented players with a coherent strategy will beat a team of Nick Labroccas that try hard in this modern version of MLS. His mindset is MLS 1.0.
Link to the video here In the spirit of one club (pun intended), does anyone know if Padraig Smith and Pablo are on the same page? From our website "Among the key focus areas for Smith will be data analytics and performance analysis as they pertain to player acquisitions and scouting from a team performance, player and opposition perspective. In addition, he will oversee strategic planning and management of the soccer operations budget, salary cap and ensure that the club is in compliance with all player collective bargaining agreements and FIFA regulations. He will also represent the Rapids on the league’s technical committee."
