No. Just basically everything that could go wrong has and seems to continue to go wrong. As much as I think Ben has hit his coaching ceiling and should be replaced it seems that if we had a healthy starting 11 from the beginning we would be in much better shape at this point. MLS is still a very mediocre league (aside from Toronto) so mid-table would be doable with a stable healthy starting 11. Someone needs to hold and exorcism or burn some sage as starters and then make sure the new place has all of these in place in some way, shape, or form. https://www.ghostlyactivities.com/herbs-protect-evil-spirits/ james
D.C. United signing goalkeeper Steve Clark, former Crew starter and now free agent after playing in Denmark for a year #dcu #mls— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) August 16, 2017
Farewell Travis. I'm sure you did your best. It just wasn't good enough. I hope you land a good gig in the USL, asitis
Little known fact about Steve Clark: When he trialed for a Norwegian team some years ago, he ran the 40 in 4.51 and had a 33" vertical leap. If he fizzles in goal, move him up front!
If you were Bill would you stick around? by the time we play a home match next year we will be out of the playoffs most likely. He wants in for Russia. so head to Euro to play this winter to prep for Russia.
With Steve Clark's arrival at @dcunited, I'm hearing Travis Worra will go on loan to @RichmondKickers #dcu #usl— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) August 17, 2017
I could see Olsen coaching a healthier squad to one more draw, one more win, and a -17 goal differential
If Bill was seen at the Greyhound Terminal with his clothes hanging out of his hastily packed luggage wearing a disguise it would make sense
I had high hopes for Le Toux after watching him play for the Union. He combined well with others and could score (he's the only active MLS player with 55 goals and 55 assists). He is also a very approachable guy with a wicked sense of humor (as I learned while talking to him about Tissot's Canadian "french" vs. "genuine" French). But I think he is caught in a numbers game here, so the termination makes sense. I think he would make a fine asst. coach at some point.
That opens space for another player. Did LeToux have a green card? Clark's spot was opened by loaning Worra.
Random thought: This thread is entitled"2017 Raccoon Rodeo." Next year, when we move to Audi Field, the equivalent thread should be entitled "2018 Groundhog Rodeo," since Sitruc has told us, and posted photographs, that show groundhogs as the resident rodent of the new stadium. Presumably RFK's raccoons will remain there to the bitter end and never cross S. Capitol Street.
I'd wait for the first ball to be played before I'd hang a date on it. This drama still has a few more acts to unfold, As for the groundhogs who knows what other beasts lurk in the neighborhood,
Looks like another signing is coming. Le Toux is a class player. It was time to move on and I'm glad he and the club came to an agreement.
If there is one more signing, I wonder if we can make a play for Marcelo Diaz who just became a free agent. His last 3 clubs were Celta Vigo, Hamburg and FC Basel ... playing regularly for all 3 while also amassing 59 caps for Chile. He's only 30. He's not a destroyer like Medel, more of a possession center mid, but that sounds like exactly what we need.
