But officially no Ofers. We should probably count the POR/SKC game which just had Portland wearing their secondary shirt.
So we are down to DC, Houston, and Vancouver wearing the same kit every game. Who will be the first to crack? DC is at New England on April 22 so that one may end soon. Houston is at Toronto April 28 so that will probably end the streak for the Dynamo. Traditionally Houston has not worn the orange at Toronto although they have two of the last three times. This TFC kit is pretty dark red so we'll see. Vancouver could wear the all-white for the foreseeable future.
I've been wanting to contribute more to this thread but you guys have almost everything covered. So I'm going to track most and least changes. I know it's mentioned here and there (see above @newtex comment) but let's make it official. Sadly, it probably won't update much unless Portland and Seattle have a fashion show the rest of the season. Atlanta might get nuts, as well. [NOTE: These category names are awkward. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017/04/19/mls-adidas-join-forces-parley-ocean-eco-friendly-kits I guess we'll count these as 3rd shirts? They don't look very different in these pictures. I wonder if the actual jerseys vary more in color.
The Orlando and LA shirts are actually white, while the Seattle and NYCFC versions seem to be a slightly darker gray than what the initial photos seemed to suggest. Contrast could still be an issue, but they do look to vary a bit more in real life. Also, I guess this would count as a fourth shirt for Seattle since they still have their third this season.
Yeah, those look better. I guess they will just be "non-Primary" in my stats. The specific distinction doesn't really matter.
These look like baseball home whites and road grays. It's like one of those "What if NBA teams were soccer teams" design things become real. Blegh
Why oh why does the MLS and TV folks (Fox, ESPN) allow kits be be do similar in shade that they cannot be seen easily on TV? White and light grey are not easy to distinguish. Three different matches this weekend had similar issues. Orlando/NYSFC and LA/Seattle and one EPL (sorry if this was previously discussed)
I'm sure the makers of these jerseys could have made them the club's primary colors. I believe they were trying to make some sort of Earth Day statement with the colors. For the NYCFC/OC match I thought the jerseys were ok, but when I saw the exact same thing with the LA/Seattle match, I was like WTF. Come on if we don't constantly want this league to always be the punchline of a joke we need to not keep doing crap like this.
Week 8 - The plastic kits shuffled things around a bit but not too much. I'm leaving LA and Orlando as unchanged since they both already have all-white combinations.
