Just a little but disappointed with Castellanos, who was only 19. Otherwise I'm not surprised. Turner and Turnley were the closest to the first team, but likely not good enough so don't repeat the same mistakes we did in 2017 with Smith and the others.

Sneddon, Amaya and Aguilar still with the club are question marks to me.

I agree that Sneddon is likely the odd man out with Lopez and Vom Steeg back, but given that the Galaxy currently have zero GKs, they might be waiting a bit to release another GK. If there is no one else in the Academy ready to make the jump, he could still make the GIIs as a backup if one of the other two is signed to the senior squad as the third GK. They usually have 5 GKs, with the third GK on the Galaxy occupying a swing position between the Galaxy and the GIIs.

I did not watch very many Los Dos games this season but was still surprised of this move

Since Aguilar was out most of the season last year with his ACL tear, to some extent this is an opportunity to see if we can recoup a bit of that investment. If it means anything more than that, it suggests we are not trying to go with a GII team filled exclusively with really young Academy kids (although both he and Payeras, who was also resigned, were on the team last year).
