News Papraniku is able to share right away is that Clarkstown will be absorbing Motown's squad into its roster for the NPSL 2017 campaign: "One super team, as we call it."

"We're adding quality and it gives us the ability to rest players and be stronger," explains Papraniku. "Last year, we were one game away from the NPSL final; the year before, two games away. Both times, we were beat by the team that won it," he says.

Clearly, Clarkstown wants to build on its success and keep pushing for that national championship. Players are one part of the equation; coaching is another. Papraniku says adding Hot to the technical staff is no favor to an old friend: "He is being transitioned to being the head coach. This is his first step in taking over."

    NPSL North Matchweek Two Recap
    22 May 2017
Rain soaked the region in the second week of the NPSL North season, canceling one game and making for interesting playing conditions in the other three. Dakota Fusion, Minneapolis City, and Duluth are the only remaining undefeated teams, the latter two having drawn on Saturday evening. VSLT rebounded from an opening weekend loss with a win against TwinStars, and La Crosse Aris’ game in Sioux Falls was postponed.

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW JERSEY COPA FC TOPS CLARKSTOWN 1-0

Jersey City, N.J. - Despite a lightening delay during the match between New Jersey Copa FC and Clarkstown SC on the evening of Wednesday, May 31st, 2017, the men in red were able hold off their 1-0 lead and secure their first win of the season.

NJCFC came into the game after a recent draw against Electric City (1-1) and a hard fought loss in the U.S. Open Cup match against Motown after extra time (2-1) a few weeks before.

NJCFC and Clarkstown have a bit of history: the 2016 NPSL Season saw Clarkstown finish first in the Keystone Conference and NJCFC coming behind them in second, setting up a showdown in the NPSL Regional Championships in which Clarkstown advanced. Now, in 2017, NJCFC have the advantage against their rivals following the away win, and the three points that came with the victory. NJCFC will face Clarkstown at home later in the season (Sunday, June 25, 2017).

“I was very satisfied with the win,” said Coach Roberto Aguas. “We were able to maintain our focus after the rain delay, and change our formation and tactics to defend our lead and continue the pressure on their defense. We look forward to taking this positive momentum into our next home matchup against Hershey FC this Saturday, June 3rd.”

Playing underneath partly cloudy conditions until the lightening delay, the first goal and only goal of the match came in the first half by recent Rutgers-Newark star player and NJCFC captain Raphael Araujo (#9) in the 35th minute. The goal was assisted by forward Ryan Campbell (#19) with a flick-on header to Araujo to give a one time volley to the upper 90 towards the far post, just out of reach from goalkeeper Abdoukarim Danso.

“It was probably one of the best goals I’ve seen in some time,” said captain Andrew Santos, former standout at Manhattan College. “The play leading up to the goal was a team effort- a great combination between our two forwards to find the back of the net, and secure the lead for the win.”

Clarkstown had their chances to equalize, but with five saves from NJCFC goalkeeper Matthew Perella (Rider University) and tight defending from Jonathan Firmino (#7), Nick Sica (20), Modou Sowe (#4), and Santos (#11), the home team was not able to find the equalizing goal.

“It was an exciting match and a very good win for us,” said Araujo. “I would consider Clarkstown as a rival now after last year’s Regional Championships. This win at their field gives us the focus and mindset we need to play with when we host them at home later this season on June 25th.”

A loan from NPSL to Brazil?:

    http://www.bostoncityfc.com/news/20...lista-first-division-club-ferroviaria-on-loan

Boston City FC midfielder Isaac Nana Addai has joined Brazilian Campeonato Paulista first division club Ferroviaria on loan.

The Liberian-born 22-year-old will join the Araraquara-based club in the State of Sao Paulo, subject to international clearance, initially on a three-month deal, with an option for his stay to be extended. Boston City will retain a percentage of any future transfer fee and will continue to monitor Addai’s progress in Brazil, while he is out on loan.

Minneapolis City Chairman’s 2017 Year in Review

    http://fiftyfive.one/2017/08/guest-feature-minneapolis-city-chairmans-2017-year-review/

Last year we opened our books and talked about what it takes financially to start a lower division soccer club. This year we are going to open our books again
The first year is always the hardest, but that doesn’t mean the second year will be easy.

When we started Minneapolis City we had a three-year plan to break even within the volunteer-run, amateur-player structure that we started with.2

It was great theoretically and, spoiler alert, in practice, but in our first year we lost money.

NPSL is proud to announce that Clarkstown SC Eagles has rebranded as FC Motown. The club will continue to compete in the Northeast Region’s Keystone Conference. Home matches will be played at Drew University's Ranger Stadium in Madison, New Jersey, a facility with lights and seating for 1,200.

The leadership of the team will include Owner, President, and Head Coach Oliver Papraniku, Owner and Assistant Coach Scott Kindzierski, Owner and Assistant Coach Dan Karosen, Assistant Coach and Technical Director Sacir Hot, and Assistant Coach Bujar Gjata.

One of New York State’s top players and coaches with Adriatic SC, N.Y. Albanians, NYC Albania, Clarkstown SC Eagles and Cedar Stars Academy, Papraniku led his clubs to the championships in the Cosmopolitan League First and Second Divisions, Northeast Super Soccer League, NY State Manning Cup, US Amateur Cup (NYS), NPSL Keystone Conference and Northeast Region, and numerous CSL indoor titles.

Kindzierski is co-founder of FC Motown and was the 2015 New Jersey Soccer Association Coach of the Year. He is a New Jersey CPA and currently is president of an e-commerce company.

Karosen is the co-founder of FC Motown and is the Chief Financial Officer of Fields Development Group based in Hoboken. Karosen is a CPA and a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. Hot is a former U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team and New York Red Bulls Homegrown Player.

"FC Motown is thrilled to be joining the NPSL and think that the league is a perfect fit to bring our club to the next level,” Karosen commented. “This is close to a dream scenario as we are stepping into a rebranded team that is already a national power. Our players and staff combined with Oliver Papraniku's Clarkstown team and had a wonderful experience. We made the national quarterfinals playing in front of large and festive crowds against the Kingston Stockade and Elm City Express. Our goal is to create that level of gameday experience for our players & Morristown community. We canvassed the state of New Jersey and think that this area is ripe for NPSL soccer. Everything is teed up for success as Morristown soccer fans will enjoy watching the NPSL's 2016 highest scoring team playing on a beautiful field at leafy Drew University."

FC Motown has a rich history of success over the years. They advanced to the Second Round of the 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, defeating National Amateur Champions Lansdowne Bhoys in the U.S. Open Cup. FC Motown is a four-time Super Division Champions of Garden State Soccer League (GSSL), winning the title in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. They maintained a 56-3-4 record over that time period with a +189 goal differential and currently have a 23-game undefeated streak in the GSSL. FC Motown was also a Fricker Cup Region 1 finalist in 2016 and regional semifinalist in 2017. The team was an Amateur Cup Region 1 semifinalist in 2014 and 2015.

FC Motown was started as a co-ed team in 2012 by high school classmates Scott Kindzieski and Dan Karosen and in five short years has become of the top amateur teams in the nation. Currently the club is a mix of former elite college players who are beginning their work careers and aspiring pros who will travel the world to achieve their dreams. FC Motown has had multiple players sign professional contacts off its squad during its brief history. It has had high-profile friendlies during the past year against NYCFC, Red Bulls II, Ecuadorian U-20 National Team, and Peruvian side Sport Boys. FC Motown strives to balance a community-centric approach with being of the best clubs in the nation. It recently signed its first major sponsor in Colavita and hopes to sign others before the 2018 NPSL season.

Clarkstown, a three-time champion of the Keystone Conference, was an NPSL national quarterfinalist in both 2015 and 2017 and a NPSL national semifinalist in 2016. They were eliminated from the playoffs by the last three national champions of the NPSL.

“This merger between two northeast state stalwarts will create a dominant NPSL team with a goal of winning a national title,” Papraniku concluded.

PDX FC were so close to the post season in year one. Now they are spending the off-season looking at all aspects of the club. “In terms of off the pitch there are a lot of things we learned and are excited about being able to continue working on going into year two. It’s really exciting to have an opportunity to dig in and create a game day atmosphere and culture that really connect with fans in our area,” Max says. “On the field, we had a very short runway in preparing for our inaugural season so I was really proud of the product we put on the field, missing the playoffs by just two points.”

Head Coach, Co-Founder of PDX FC Luke Babson knows that player scouting begins locally. “The Portland elite men’s soccer scene is packed with talented players. PDX FC offers the opportunity to play in a very competitive NW Conference within the National Premier Soccer League. Our roster consists of talented collegiate players and a couple of the top high school aged players in the area. We also have a few guys that bring high level professional experience.”

Jim Rooney Tapped as Boca Raton FC Head Coach
    December 14, 2017
Boca Raton FC is proud to announce the hiring of Jim Rooney, whose extensive appearance in American and South Florida soccer makes him a natural fit for the organization. Rooney will lead Boca Raton FC during the 2018 season.

Operating as a central midfielder or deep-lying playmaker, Rooney captained the Major League Soccer’s (MLS) Miami Fusion from 1999 to 2001, leading the Fusion to the Supporters Shield crown in 2001 and the US Open Cup Final in 2000. Rooney was an MLS All-Star in 2001 and in total scored 21 times and notched 22 assists in an MLS career that spanned six seasons and playing for the MetroStars, Miami Fusion, and the New England Revolution.

“Jim’s unique profile is exactly what we have been looking for at Boca Raton FC,” said president Douglas Heizer. “As a player, he captained a local MLS team and as a coach, he coached a local NASL team.”

As a coach, Rooney has played a key role in helping guide the Fort Lauderdale Strikers to the NASL Championship Series in 2011. Following his stint with the Strikers, he worked with the US Soccer U-17 Men’s National Team at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, where he coached a number of big-name players, including the 2017 U.S. Soccer Male Player of the Year, Christian Pulisic.

After that, Rooney joined the coaching staff with the Jacksonville Armada of NASL.

“I’m looking forward to this opportunity,” said Rooney. “It’s a very rare to be able to coach in your hometown for your hometown club.”

Rooney’s extensive national and international pedigree between all levels of soccer will be paramount as Boca Raton FC builds towards the future.

“To coach my local club it’s something I’ve been wanting to do for years,” explained Rooney. “After meeting Douglas and the ownership group I felt this was a great fit and I’m looking forward to starting this project together with them.”

“Jim’s extensive contact list will be instrumental in helping our players make the next step in their careers,” added Heizer. “His perspectives on the game in not only South Florida, but the United States, makes him a great fit for Boca Raton FC as we look towards the future.”
