Are there other 2000s who haven't been selected yet that we think could be options down the line ? Thinking more the few u18 games ? Because would imagine those squads would include none of the players going to the WC.

My two locally would me MaxBird (Derby) & RileyHarbottle (Forest).

Definitely. Onomah has only ever played CM as he was easily the best CM in his age group and immiedate age groups above and below.

TOB while being a quality CM, had more competition in that position from his and surrounding age groups so he was tried out on wing a few times and he can definitely play there a lot better than Onomah as a result. He plays a bit like Dembele on the wing. Like you say actually might help him find his way into the first team.

I know I've mentioned him a few times, but I'd say Hinds, and I also think Phoenix Patterson is a really good player, but competition in the AM/CM area is so strong he will struggle to find a way in

so 3 attacking midfielders with nothing in common with Onomah or TOB.

Both finished the season as U23s despite being schoolboys so yeah that's hugely impressive.

At Chelsea pretty much anyone born in 2000 who could be capped has been; Conor Gallagher (early 2000), Tariq Lamptey, Jonathan Russell and Jack Wakely (all late 2000s and incoming first-year scholars) haven't. If any of them really kick into gear then you'd expect the FA to take notice, Lamptey might have the best chance as he's a little livewire who can play multiple positions, but none of them are really close at the minute.

Reece Hannam (LB, West Ham). Think he was on standby before in 2016/17. Expect him to play a fair bit of U23s football this season.

Austin Samuels scored for Wolves last night.

Under the radar forward like Jamie Soule in the group.

from what I've gathered, he did well in the middle, bar a silly pass

Loads of quality 2000s around who could kick on in the next 1-2 years, especially those late 2000s.

He's been very impressive in the games so far, game time against both PSG and Roma now and looked unfazed.

What's the story with Soule though? WBA like to promote their best youngsters early but he scarcely played any under-18 football last season, if at all?

Supposedly he is doing well but Ray Tulloch just rated more highly. Lots of development still to come so interesting how the season goes. U18 spots could be up for grabs.

The way that piece is written is pretty laughable. It seems to intentionally not point out the link that he had to sign the contract to go on the tour. The issue is split in two in the piece -
1.) but he was left behind after indicating that he could leave this summer.
2.) City have offered Sancho a lucrative first professional contract

The indication that he could leave was from not signing this contract. It genuinely feels like these Ducker pieces have to be proof read by City staff or something

Ridiculous. Are they so insecure as a club that they have to manipulate the press against a 17-year-old so that they can convince their fans that he's no great loss?

Yeah Foden looked very much at home. Roberts and Tosin came on for the last 20 minutes and I thought looked the part, with even TA looking lively (it's not always the case, of course). And for West Ham, the forgotten man. Nathan Holland came on for 6 minutes..
