Interesting, no teams with "assured" progress, everything stays open.

thanks .... I tought this was for north korean clubs there :D very confusing this edition of AFC Cup. I want to see how will play two indian clubs in same group, how only one will qualify. Groups D and E are the most ridiculous, where only 1 from 4 teams will qualify.

Group H and I, as 1 qualified team from 3 is much better, but this "3" is not too good for the format. AFC must work at preliminary stages, not at groups stages ... because 8 x 4 was much better.

Could AFC please open up Group I (East Asia) for Kitchee to play in? Isn't AFC supposed to encourage competition? Kitchee is suitably qualified and there is a slot open. Come on!

Heard that Shabab Al-Khalil are filing an official complaint to get their 3-1 second leg loss to Al-Suwaiq overturned. Apparently, Saif Salman didn't have his paperwork in order and played in the second leg.

It's a long shot but let's wait and see what happens.

The AFC allowed Group H to have 3 teams as well. So, the chance to open up for Kitchee to play is very slim especially teams from HKPL is ineligible to play in the AFC Cup as ranked 6th in East Zone.

    yes....

they can't think better. For example to give a spot in AFC Cup for 3rd team in groups stage of ACL. So, these teams are eligible to win a continental trophy (with this, can found again AFC Super Cup), and small teams from AFC Cup can have contact with good teams in Round of 16 or Round of 32 (as in Europa League)

AFC allows teams to withdraw from the competition so freely it is not like they are 100% strict about their rules. This edition of the AFC Cup is not really working and they need a boost more than anything.

Group I with two North Korean and one Mongolian teams do not look like they will generate too much interest from the media or fans anyway. Put Kitchee in and it will be different. My only concern is that Kitchee may not even want to be bothered...

Damn right. Kitchee is better to focus on winning back the Hong Kong Premier League now and get the direct slot of 2018 ACL group stage.

For this years tournament, East Asia will have the shortest path to the tournament needing only to get results in 8 games to reach the final as they have only three participants in their group. They are followed by West Asia, Central Asia, and South Asia with 10 games while ASEAN will need to hurdle 14 games before doing so.
