Well done to the mods for deleting the Concernedmoron's racist post. Back to AFC CL: Only two Korean players remain in the tournament: Jung Sung-Ryong (Kawasaki Frontale) Kim Young-Gwon (Guangzhou Evergrande) - he's not registered at the moment as he was injured, but he probably will be registered for the quarter-finals.
Makino denying that he did not do anything to provoke the incident is pure BS. No one gets provoked over nothing. There has to be something that triggers those reactions and he can't get away with anything esp. when Jeju has players that actually understand Japanese. Also, Makino has a history of this. It's funny that he was also the first one to run away from this incident to the lockers. What do you expect from a man that was manhandled by the NorKs before? BUT, regardless of what Ljubijankic and Makino did, it doesn't give the Jeju player the right to violently act like that. They will get punishments (hopefully both sides will) from the AFC.
Obviously Makino talked junk after the final whistle, but if the content was truly out of bounds I think it would have come out by now. Personally I prefer to see a bit of chirping back and forth between teams - as a longtime J-League player Kweon should know that getting riled up by Makino is the mark of a rookie. Postgame tussle aside, the truly remarkable event was Baek turning into a deranged hooligan, invading and cutting all the way across the pitch to smash Abe from behind. That was amazing.
