Aguirre is being done dirty if he's getting fired for last night. I guess state championships still matter....

I mean they settled on him in the first place.m and they did set a goal to win the state championships. Idk if they could have assembled a better roster , I'd be pissed about his use of cazares and Clayton. I think those two players sealed his deal, especially since everytime cazares plays he balls.

Those are legitimate reasons, but I doubt the FO uses any of them as a reason to fire him other than the state championship. If he was a dead man walking before last night's game, he should have been fired earlier. Galo actually played well yesterday IMO and the only reason they even conceded is because Victor did his best Paulo Victor impersonation.

Apparently Aguirre asked to leave after the Mineiro, and he was kept because Galo couldn't find a new coach. Aguirre couldn't handle the pressure....

It's not just that he lost, but how he lost it. He first asked to leave after losing 4-2 to tricordiano in the Mineiro (and the only reason tricordiano wasn't relegated was because of that game).

He never put a consistent team on the pitch. Against America in the Mineiro final, he set the team with two right wingers, with Marcos Rocha playing as a midfielder. Then, with Atletico up 1-0 and one player down, he insisted on keeping Carlos Cesar, a right winger who had barely played all year, as a central defender.

Same sorts of insane things against Sao Paulo. Carlos Eduardo had barely been hired and was the first one in. Key good, young players like Clayton and Cazares were never given a chance to develop. They'd be the man of the match one day, then not even among the reserves the next.

A lot was written about how Atletico was being too impatient to fire Aguirre. But Aguirre had been there for 5 months and it was still impossible to imagine who he would start. It wasn't a mistake to fire Aguirre. It was a mistake to fire Levir Culpi.

    Substituto no Timão[IMG]

Caso Tite deixe o Corinthians rumo à Seleção, nomes como os de Oswaldo de Oliveira (Sport) e Eduardo Baptista (Ponte Preta) surgem como favoritos ao cargo

What does Baptista do to keep getting linked to big jobs? The next Cristovao.

I really think he is the next cristovao. It is even the same feeling I get from criticizing cristovao as I do baptista. Feelings of guilt like I've been to harsh.

Lol. I should have took that class with dorival and the other Santa Catarina managers on the circuit last offseason. I'm surprised they didn't go after that young youth manager they had that was 5 games and out with bragantino 2 years ago.

Wow, I like the nickname haha. It's tough to say But I think this is a net positive career move. He was doing a good job with chapecoense.

Bernardo ended up with Coritiba. It's going to be interesting seeing him and Juan operate in their midfield. Both have temperaments and then you throw in Kleber and Kazim in the mix.
