Sounded like an outlier and it was. The actual attendance for the 8/21 match was 642. (http://www.orlandocitysc.com/post/2016/08/22/ocb-draws-richmond-kickers-1-1) The 3,914 number was for the 8/27 OCB match at Richmond.
Did I see some issues with the now former owner having a "tweet war" with some supporters group ... centering around his support for Trump vs their support for ... well, Mexico/immigration?
Oh, goodness, I did not see that. The supporters here are a diverse group. I guess not getting coverage has its benefits sometimes.
You wanna get personal, John? Where's your protest of YOUR EMPLOYERS signs in the window? #Crickets pic.twitter.com/PplCqx7Vfv— Kyle Eng (@kyledeng) August 31, 2016
I honestly didn't know anything about it until I saw something about "Hopefully the change in ownership is a good thing" ... is there a Hispanic Supporters Club that my have been having a little twitter battle with Kyle? Those sorts of things never end well. Hopefully the new group can bring the club forward a step or 10.
Apparently Eng supports Pence (did not see a Trump support tweet) and one fan took offense (either to that or to something else unspecified) to which Eng replied with the above about a local business that supports the local sheriff, who is controversial to say the least.
Yeah, I didn't dig too deep because I don't know the "players" in the argument but I didn't think it was wise to get into a "pissing" match with a supporters group of you own group on twitter (no matter the topic).
Missing Real Monarchs numbers: 7/2- 3619 8/13- 2675 8/17- 2016 Bonus: 9/3- 3519 I can't find any information for 7/22.
Any chance to relocate Swope Park Rangers? They can't draw flies. I wonder if they would do better playing in Wichita? Still be fairly close to KC.
As with many of these MLS O&O teams, the objective is not necessarily to have robust attendance. It's to keep players close and develop them with meaningful games, not to have the attendance numbers look good. They'd have to set up offices and infrastructure 200 miles away in Wichita and either have players commute or try to sell the development experience to the folks there. Not likely.
Tonight's announced #LaborDay attendance for #CINvSTL is 17,415... thank you once again Cincinnati! #CINvSTL— FC Cincinnati (@fccincinnati) September 5, 2016 Holding at 17,000 for the year. Expect that or more for the final home match against Orlando.
Swope Park Rangers (9/3) Attendance: 1,827 We were 5 of those 1827. Wonderful night ... disappointing result.
