So, is five dates the maximum? I think some teams play seven or eight opponents by playing in exempt tournaments, but such tourneys are usually 45 or 50 minute games instead of 90, and of course in spring there are no overtimes. I like attending spring soccer because it's no pressure, so there's a chance to see the players try out for spots, but what I don't like are the lack of rosters, consistent jersey numbers, reliable scoreboards and announced goals. It's like being at a high school JV game.
Yeah, it's a little tricky not having the scoreboard, and not having the PA. I've been to spring soccer a fair amount before, but only to satisfy my withdrawal. Also, I seem to be caught unaware of any announcement of a spring schedule. Do a lot of teams kind of not bother, or is it just a San Diego State thing?
A lot of teams don't bother...unless it is announced by the opponent or a showcase organizer you have to know someone associated with the team to find out.
These teams play 7, 8, 10 and 6 games . About 75% of the spring schedules reportedon on this thread come from only 7 conferences: Big Sky, Big West, Mountain West, Pac-12, WCC and WAC. I guess there is not much interest in the other 25 conferences.
