We are ridiculously deep in midfield so it does suck for him.

Adu is a joke. Guess he sits because we weren't playing a college side.

I had trouble with getting a steady stream online but what I could tell, that was one boring ass match. Rowdies never looked dangerous up front. Indy wasn't very good so a real disappointment to squander a couple points in the home opener.

Guess I didn't miss anything. Maybe Adu should play next time.

On a positive note, the Rowdies executed many quick, creative passes that isolater the attacker on a single defender. Just no ability to then beat the defender and get a clean look at the goal. The Rowdies midfield controlled the game for vast stretches. Indy kept dropping players back and stuffing lanes in front of the goal. Last year that seemed to lull the boys in green and yellow into being susceptible to a counter. Fortunately tonight we didn't give up too many cheap breakaways on the counter.

I saw Stefanovic in street clothes. Bad injury?

Yeah, no biggie. We just couldn't, you know, score. That is kind of crucial. :p

Yep. It's clear we still have some kind of hex on us as far as finishing goes. Heinemann isn't enough.

did they ever say why adu didn't play? that stream was garbage so i don't know if i missed it. was it just a coach's decision? seems like both teams could have used some creativity. if he isn't hurt, sticking freddy in there for the last 15 minutes would have been worth a shot, but they didn't even dress him.

Adu the PR stunt wasn't even dressed. He played throughout preseason. Was he at least there signing autographs? Can anyone confirm?

And PR stunt or no, we probably could have used him last night because despite controlling the game for the most part, we showed a glaring lack of creativity in the final third. Our big money forward doesn't look good at all. Not sure where the goals are going to come from.

I wonder if Stu sees him as Rongen's guy. Hopefully going scoreless this game will get him to try playing him.

Didn't the Rowdies sign Adu to a new deal for this season? If so, he's now one of Stu's guys IMO.

True, they could have just exercised an option but signed a whole new deal instead with another option. I wish the media here actually covered the Rowdies so they could press Stu on that. We can't speculate any better than you guys as a result.

Bigger story to me than Adu not playing was Savage. Savage is the spark to our attack when he is healthy, I believe. Is he still hurt? We need him in there.

I hope Adu not playing was injury related and not tactical related. If we are paying him, and he's healthy, he needs to be in there. I need more information on this.

I am annoyed at the final 3rd problem. It seems we've had this problem since our team was announced. We got MFs up the ying yang, but no true #9 or #7. Why is this? [And] if we do have this problem, make a MF an attacker. B-E- AGGRESSIVE.

I know it's game 1, but Indy wasn't that good this game. We missed a HUGE chance for 3. I hope this does not bite us later on in the spring season.

Our road kits look pretty sharp in action.

Total cluster on defense makes it 1-0 Miami. Not sure what happened there. Too easy.

Will we ever hear what "injury" Adu has? Why does no journalist ask him? Give details! The fans have a right to know. Spill it!

First goal of the season comes on a penalty! 1-1 in Miami. Avila got pushed down in the box and Hristov puts it in.

Hristov Penalty Rescues a Point for Rowdies in Miami (Unused Substitutes)

Rowdies Pick Up Road Point With 1-1 Draw In Miami (RowdiesSoccer.com)

    Three Things: Miami FC Draw

Feels like Heinemann just can't provide much attack on his own. We did better as we subbed more attackers on. Hristov almost won it with another shot after his penalty. Maybe he needs to start next time and help set the tone.

We desperately need to run an aggressive 4-3-3 or a 4-2-1-2-1. We need to play to Heineman's strength.

We also need a win. We cannot have more draws than wins. I feel if we have anoth 2 draws, we are already out. Carolina already has 4 points on us. We have to be aggressive.

Agreed, we need more attacking options forward, we have a damn good seasoned veteran goalkeeper and a strong defense, stop being so damn conservative!

I really have a lot of faith in Tam Mkandawire right now - he keeps the defense well-organized. Also, he does have a history of goal-scoring in his previous stints in the UK. Can that be a piece of a more-aggressive attacking scheme?

I personally saw Adu working with coaches at ALF last weekend before the mob bus trip to Miami. I asked around, and the consensus was Adu is dogging it in practice and Campbell won't have none of that.
