Posted in the other thread, but if there's no other recent activity out there .......... The Breakers now have 11 draft picks for the 2017 NWSL Draft, and 7 of the Top 16 overall picks. #1 (1st round pick) #3 (1st round pick) #9 (1st round pick) ---------------------------- #11 (2nd round pick) #12 (2nd round pick) #15 (2nd round pick) #16 (2nd round pick) ---------------------------- #21 (3rd round pick) #28 (3rd round pick) ---------------------------- #31 (4th round pick) #38 (4th round pick) *They can draft one for each of the 11 positions on the field. And Morgan Andrews should be taken no later than the #3 overall pick.
Well, on top of all the voluntary bleeding the Spirit have been doing to their roster, add injury: Wys suffered the-injury-that-must-not-be-named this weekend down in Oz; with a 6-9m recovery, that keeps her off the field until May-August. One must now wonder if the CSA was already thinking of moving Labbe elsewhere and the Spirit are now trying to rein her back in.
With the USI movement, I'm also wondering if Sullivan is the more likely name this time around. I feel for her injury but to have this backfire two years in a row would be hilarious. Edit: UFI? I keep forgetting what it's referred to as since they changed the name from the initial announcement
Do you mean, "thinking of moving Labbe elsewhere and the Spirit are now trying to Reign her back in" ?
Crystal Dunn is on her way to Paris : https://www.instagram.com/p/BM4L6AwAIoK/ You bet she is scheduling business meeting with her agent while over there.
Janice Cayman is close to signing for a team in the top 3 in the French Division 1 feminine, two teams are looking at her right now.
Noooooo. Chapman! Oh well, more reason to attend Breakers games http://m.chron.com/sports/dynamo/article/Dash-trade-Allysha-Chapman-to-Boston-10642442.php Thoughts on that player?
I think its a good pickp for Boston. If they can resign Engen, their defense would have massively improve. They also have like 28017 picks in the first two rounds of the draft that losing the #15 pick is nothing. Add to that if Chapman retains her allocated status, that's a free player right there. Chapman I think is a very good defender and also very capable going forward so she will add another dimension to that team For once I'm impressed with what Boston is doing re. trade
Yeah, Chappy is a good add if she can stay healthy. Only managed 4 games in 2015 and 8 last year. Missed a lot of time with injury both seasons (in addition to WWC & Olympics duty).
Bruna Benites? As @tuxkalle_82 pointed out, looks like it's Houston Dash that will be getting Bruna Benites. No matter what, she's likely headed to NWSL pic.twitter.com/lbvxXLgMva— Katja (@applessquabble) November 28, 2016
If you check my post from Monday under 2016 Chicago Red Stars, it was posted on the Norway thread (by Bauser) that Bruna might be headed from Norway club Avaldsnes to Red Stars.
This site listed Chicago Red Stars next to her name in the past, but now it shows Houston Dash. http://www.kvinnefotball.no/silly-season12
I doubt she would be coming to the Red Stars. Chicago already has 3 central defenders in Johnston, Naughton and Johnson. And with Short and Gilliland, she would have no place as a starter. Plus, for some reason, I don't think the Red Stars are interested at this time in international players. But I could be wrong.
Wendie Renard is probably on her way to the NWSL according to the rumours in France. She is out of contract in the Summer and same as Henry is looking for a new challenge after 11 seasons with Lyon.
I hope it's Renard. I'd rather a 26 yo vet over 34 yo. I won't give my hopes up tho Then again, with the Euro that would mean a lot of missed games
