Continued from http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/2014-2015-u12-u17-nt-r.2002768/page-50 The squad has been in India for a friendly tournament/training camp. The U-16 Championships (which will be held in September this year) is held in India itself so it a early preparation to get used to the environment. Coach Kim Kyung-ryang, ex-Jeonbuk U-18 coach, has now joined the coaching staff. He was part of Choi Jin-cheol's staff in the 2015 U-17 WC in Chile.
The U-16 NT is actually participating in a tournament called "2016 AIFF Youth Cup" in India. It is held in May 15-25. Besides India and Korea, the other teams featuring are USA, Malaysia and Tanzania - http://www.dnaindia.com/sport/repor...-youth-cup-as-preparation-for-u-17-wc-2201000 Daejeon Citizens announce that Seo Woo-min from their youth team is called up - http://www.dcfc.co.kr/news/news_view.php?num=19145&schtype&schword&start=0
AIFF schedule: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_AIFF_Youth_Cup India Youth Coach Nicolai Adam: It will be like a tiny little Mini World Cup! http://www.arunfoot.com/india-youth-coach-nicolai-adam-will-like-tiny-little-mini-world-cup/
Our U-16 beat Malaysia 3-0 in the first match of the AIFF youth cup. Scorers were: Kim Chae-woon 24', Park Jeongin 34' and Jeon Wooram 90+5' Next opponents are Tanzania then USA Full match:

Kinda boring tbh. We had man sent off though and a disallowed goal (which looked wrong call) but US also had disallowed goal which confused the youtube broadcast lol. The temperature will be a huge factor in the AFC Championships. Getting a warmup to get used to environment was a good idea. But at the same time, Seo Hyo-won hasn't really convinced me that much as a coach. Our U-16 won the AIFF Cup after beating USA 2-1 for the 1st spot final match. It was 1-1 in normal time before we scored a late winning goal in ET, full match:
[AFC U-16] We are drawn with Malaysia, Oman and Iraq. http://www.the-afc.com/u-16-championship-2016/afc-u-16-championship-india-2016-draw-concluded The question leading up will be whether Lee Kang-in or his team in Spain will be willing to let him go all the way to sticky hot India to play in the competition. I certainly wouldn't mind watching how he does with this team.
The U-16 KNT is taking part in a friendly 4 nation friendly in China (no info.) and this is the squad list -
The U-16 KNT will be playing in a 4-nation friendly tournament in China but this is actually an U-17 tournament. The other teams are China U-17 NT, Tajikistan U-17 NT and Turkmenistan U-17 NT and we are the only team bringing U-16. i liked watching #14 jeon seungmin during the tournament that was in india awhile back. played as a central midfielder. tidy with the ball and had good passes in him. some attacking instincts as well. reminded me a bit of ahn jinbum during his u17 days. recently helped his team win the spring u17 tournament in korea he scored the winning freekick goal against usa in the final game. its at 2:37 in the video below
hes #9 in the video. that measurement has to be an error. hes big, but not 86kg-big. skip to around 7 minute mark to see him this was him last summer
Last match against Turkmenistan U-17 and our boys won 3-0. It looks like the B team got their time this time. Scorers: Kim Tae-hyeon 13', Lee Soo-bin 48', Kim Dong-beom 89'
Squad list for the upcoming AFC U-16 Championships - No Lee Kang-in which was sort of expected considering he is all the way in Spain. No Oh Hyun-gyu either because I considered him to have alot of potential. Its still a squad with exciting talent. EDIT: The team is all 2000's except for Min Dong-hwan (GK) from Ulsan MS who is born 2001.
