Doubt it. We only have the league now to contend and we're in 4th. Other than someone coming back from a loan I think we're only getting rid of players.

Damn, wish we could take a decent LB on loan with an option to buy or something like that. We are covered everywhere else I guess.

Other than Dost, and Campbell in spots the summer window was a complete mess.

I agree. Coming from Arsenal I expected a lot more.

A potential 4.5 million profit on zeegelar is fantastic business from us

BdC says that Iuri Medeiros will stay at Boavista until the end of the season, and that they will find a solution in order for Coates to stay past this season.

Record saying Sunderland accepted a bid from Benfica for Coates and a deal is imminent. The player is on loan to us and we have a deal to buy him for 5M at the end of this season.

Not too bothered tbh. He can be replaced fairly easily. Just gonna be another Carrillo on benfica, overpaid and never plays.

Somehow I don't see that, especially if Lindelof is sold and Luisao goes down the pecking order.

I honestly really hope benfica sign him, it would be a blessing (in disguise to most people). He's really not all that and I don't want us to pay over the odds for an average player

He has been pretty solid, has good size and is only 26. Not sure 5M should stop us from signing him. Doesn't seem a bad deal. I don't think he is the greatest or anything but with our revolving door at CB in the recent past we should hold onto players who can remain healthy and play consistently.

If benfica are after him though there's every chance we get into a bidding war and have to pay an inflated price for him

I think that was the original plan but there's been reports saying that Sunderland were hoping to get more for him

I read that Benfica's bid is exactly 5M as well.

Wouldn't be surprised if they asked more from benfica. I heard that Coates doesn't really want to stay.

There's no chance he's staying at Sunderland as they'll be playing in the championship next season so I'm assuming he means Sporting, if that's the case then good riddance

Official: Markovic leaves the club and returns to Liverpool. Hopefully this opens the door for Matheus to get a look in the team.

    ---

A Sporting Clube de Portugal – Futebol, SAD chegou a acordo com o Liverpool e com o jogador Lazar Markovic para a revogação do contrato de empréstimo com efeitos imediatos.

A Sporting SAD deseja a Markovic as maiores felicidades pessoais e profissionais.

EDIT: He was just confirmed to join Hull City (Marco Silva coaching there now) for the remainder of the season.
