supposed to get four. during the CCC last week Memo, Ballo, Lisch and Hunter all trained and suited up for the Battery against Orlando and NYCFC. They did travel back to Houston and were not at the preseason match against the Coastal the other night, so not sure if they are the four we will get but I would say it is a good indication. As to when I imagine they will be with the team before the first match but again that is just speculation.
Memo and Ballo trained with the Battery yesterday and traveled to Clemson University for the Battery's scrimmage against the Tigers today
Charleston’s Caribbean Connections: Navion Boyd, M, Jamaica Maikel Chang, M, Cuba Odisnel Cooper, G, Cuba Heviel Cordoves, F, Cuba Quinton Griffith, D, Antigua & Barbuda Dane Kelly, F, Jamaica O’Brian Woodbine, D, Jamaica http://www.uslsoccer.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=32800&ATCLID=210028412 With his solid play since joining the club in 2011, Kelly has naturally served as a focal point within the Battery’s Caribbean pipeline, which includes seven current players from the region. In December of 2010, the Battery traveled to Jamaica and came across a talented goal-scoring 19-year-old.
Battery’s Garbanzo Happy with Rookie Campaign Release: 11/19/2015 http://www.uslsoccer.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=32800&ATCLID=210512906 Ricky Garbanzo, who had a standout rookie season for Charleston with five goals and five assists. A native of Rock Hill, like Ferguson, and a former teammate of Portillo with Coastal Carolina, Garbanzo was one of the Battery’s most consistent performers as the side reached the Eastern Conference Semifinals of the 2015 USL Playoffs. As he progressed with Coastal Carolina, though, Garbanzo certainly caught the eye of Battery Coach Mike Anhaeuser, who also got the chance to stay in touch with the attacking midfielder at the MLS Combine this past January. When an offer from MLS didn’t materialize, the Battery were there waiting to invite Garbanzo for a tryout.
