We'll have to play a lot better against the Saudi's to even come away with a point.

The above quote comes from Part II. I don't know the rationale. I don't care whether midweek games are Tuesday or Wednesday but I wish the games were Saturday instead of Friday. The change is permanent and not just for this round of qualifiers.

Conditions are going to make playing as poorly as on Friday impossible anyway. We sure won't be pushing up and Saudi won't be parking the bus.

FIFA bowed to club pressure. This way the players can return faster to their clubs.

Thats what I thought too. Saturday games will have more of an audience also - both on the ground and televised.

    :( Thats bad.

I know it's not in Asia, but Scotland played Czech Republic last Saturday rather than the Friday because both teams agreed to the Saturday matchday. So, if two Asian teams agreed, then they could play on the Saturday aswell.

    outside your realm
    australia
    japan
    south korea

nothing should be said about them because they already qualified. Iran, saudi, north korea, china. which of these will get get the other 2 spots? and is it still 5.5? who does the .5 play? south america i heard? in that case no point in talking about that either. sorry to kill the drama but this is the case 99% so end of. i doubt quieroz will be fired or is as horrid of a coach as ali daie so Iran will pretty much qualify too. so saudi vs north korea.

Asia has 4.5 spots. I don't think Asia ever had 5.5. The 0.5 plays South America.

its true. how could you neglect thailand, the greatest football nation in asia? so these are the teams that have reserved a spot for wc2014

    thailand
    australia
    japan
    south korea

the likes of iran, saudi, china, uzbekistan etc will have to fight for the remaining 0,5 spot because there are all inferior to the ferocious thai team. i hope we are not grouped with them in the fourth round. and if we are, i pray to the lord that they send their b-team and and give us mercy :(
