Maybe I missed the news, but was the new qualifying format officially approved? Because I'm seeing it now for the first time on FIFA.com (http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/tou...awprocedures_northcentralamericacaribbean.pdf).
The start of St. Lucia-Aruba got postponed and http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/prelim...tches/round=258091/match=300163764/index.html says the game is scoreless in the 5th minute.
Aruba would advance with a 2:1 loss, but if St. Lucia scores one more and wins 3:1 St. Lucia would advance on away goals. FIFA says the game is in the 59th minute.
Anyone know exactly which players and in which order took the penalties? I have the following so far: 1. Zane Pierre (St. Lucia) 2. ? (Aruba) 3. Nathan Justin 4. ? 5. Kurt Frederick 6. ? 7. Kevin Edward 8. ? 9. Pernal Williams 10. Jelano Cruden
Wikipedia says (so it must be true) the missing names are: 2. Jean-Luc Bergen 4. Raymond Baten 6. Rensy Barradas 8. Frederick Gomez Anyone able to verify with an Internet article?
Live now 0-0 after 25 mins (Belize - Montserrat) http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/prelim...tches/round=258091/match=300166902/index.html
That link now says Belize scored in the 24th minute. Edit: Belize won 3:1 today and 8:3 on aggregate.
Wow this was an interesting and tough draw for Grenada, Trinidad, and Haiti. Grenada have the toughest path as they must get past Guatemala so good luck there, and Trinidad has been falling down the rankings and lets not forget they lost to Bermuda the last time around and Guyana will also give them a battle away from home. finally in the last group I can see Curaco making it past the round, they never really lost to Haiti the last time around..these games will be great to see. I see Guatemala, Guyana and Curacao making it to the next round
CONCACAF has released match schedule for Second round. First matches Sep 1 http://www.concacaf.com/page/WCQ/Schedule/0,,12813,00.html
Somebody already said that site takes 12:00 A.M. September 2 in a different time zone (somewhere in Europe) and converts it to 6:00 P.M. September 1 U.S. Eastern Time. Note that it has every game listed as starting at the same time and that's because it doesn't know the start times. The games will start September 2 and every game will be 1 day later than what that site says.
This must be a big surprise in Bahamas also. This is what Bahamas newspaper wrote today. No news about the withdrawal. http://freeport.nassauguardian.net/sports/300806710519359.php
Panama was going to have an easy time in the group, but they should still replace Bahamas with somebody. Draw a name from a hat or something.
Bahamas have no National Stadium i thought.. and nor do they have the funds to travel to neutral sites..
