Mauro Camoranesi "Soy más argentino que muchos que juegan ahora en la Selección. oh, that's right... italy lost that euro final... on a goal by trezeguet!
Trezeguet too, right? At least Trezeguet is a much more likable person than the hateful bad-milk that is Camoranesi.
Trezeguet says Je suis né en France techniquement ! Dat French boy. And Mauro wasnt playing for Italy in 2000. But hey, if you want to use Trezeguets (not a French sounding name by any stretch of the imagination) papa as a means of calling him an oriundo who opted for France, I'd love to go through Argentinas, Uruguay and Brazil's player list to note which had European descent who won major trophies with them.
Admittedly that will be challenging for Argentina since the last time you guys won something was 1893, or something like that, but luckily your country is like alnost all ex-pat European, no?
Google translations? Say what? And how many times? Do you have a nationally syndicated talk show that people are to know who you are or something? Care to elaborate what you're on?
In the spirit of camaraderie ... Luckily your country is like jam packed with ex pat European ... You may be in luck because after waiting soooooooooo long this year has to be your year because somehow I wonder if FIFA will lose this opportunity to have their favorite child lift the cup before it goes back to being challenged on European soil where everyone knows only one SA country has a chance right? Anyway, I could see it happening. Off the top of my head, let's see... Messi who has roots in Le Marche, will absolutely need to be mentioned in the same sentence as Maradona and Pele and FIFA can't afford to miss this opportunity can they? Or maybe Lavezzi (not an Italian name at all) and Di Maria can finally put all that wait to rest too? Here's an interesting list, though one can argue that you'd have to examine it with a magnifying glass to find winners from 150years ago, no? And don't take my jostling to heart... No real malice intended. And lookey lookey...only a simple Google search (not translation) away... http://top-topics.thefullwiki.org/Argentines_of_Italian_descent And what you got against Google anyway? Maybe if you used it you would have known Camoranesi never played in Euro 2000 or Trez was born in France? Not my any means negative info, ya? Some Italo-Brazilians that have won trophied courtesy of @FiveXChampion who is proud of his Brazilian culture and his Italian heritage... Nothing wrong with that Vicente Italo Feola - First World Cup winning coach for Brazil Hideraldo Luiz Bellini - Defender - Captain of the Brazilian National Team - 1958 Roberto Rivelino - Midfielder Renato Portaluppi - Renato Gaucho - Striker Claudio Taffarel - Goalkeeper Luiz Felipe Scolari - Felipão - Head Coach Sebastião Lazaroni A few missed, Juliano Belleti Rogerio Ceni Next up...them mighty Uruguayans... And really...all this work because someone proudly proclaimed "Argentine and Brazilian mercenary players have won it." Was it worth it. I dare say yes...part of this minor hangover I'm experiencing from a 2nd day without football!! Avanti!!!!
i think i've found out why i don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about. you think i'm argentinian, right? or that i root for argentina? you're mistaken.
Could it have anything to do with me not having the slightest idea of who you are? Nope not really. Just the natural flow of conversion based on your response. But it does explain why you didn't know about Camo or Trez though.
Still trying to figure oit what you mean by all this rant. I am of italian descent, yet i do not consider myself italian. I'm argentinian, why would I? Trezeguet even played professionally in argentina before migrating to europe. Does that mean he is not argentinian? Camoranesi was even older. And historically, you can find lots of argentinians playing for others (even other world champions). Guess i must be missing the point...
Its really not that hard to understand, but what you're suggesting is that it's no problem for Trezeguet to consider himself French then? With that, I agree.
Sure, he has dual citizenship. He can consider himself whatever he want. Doesn't change rhe fact that he learnt how to play in argentina.
Of course and also before initially migrating to Argentina right? And if playing professionally in one country is an argument, is Messi therefore more a product of Spain than Argentina thanks to him playing all of his professional days in Spain after being brought up in Barcelona's youth? I see some grey evolving in this argument, which is wonderful BTW.
Partially, yes, I agree. If Messi would have stayed inArg he wouldnt be the player he currently is imo.
On the topic of Oriundi, there are two frauds and one hopeful who were/are supposed to make big splashes for Italy. The two frauds (meaning mostly hype but little translation to substance) were Fernando Forestieri born in Argentina of Sicilian descent...grew up mostly learning his skill in Italy and Fabiano Santacroce who was highly regarded at one point that Dunga wanted to call him to the Brazilian NT before Lippi capped him once, born in Brazil to an Italian father and Brazilian mother before moving back to Italy at age 4. Neither panned out but Jorginho born Jorge Luiz Frello Filho in Brazil also having moved to Italy at a young age is being scouted by both counties at the moment. Whether he translates to international success remains to be seen and he too can opt for either country because of dual passport. Who rightfully lays claim? I'm interested in knowing? Or does his own innate desire to feel more one culture over the other get the ultimate consideration?
Possibly true. I still consider him more Argentinian though and mostly because he himself has said he feels more Argentinian. So I guess that settles that! Anyway, I think Argentina is going to win this cup and with that I say...Forza diversity!
