Kind of dull with a few major boo-boos. We wear hoops (that go all the way around) not stripes like poxy Reading... http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/270514-qpr-launch-new-nike-kits-for-201415-season-1573872.aspx
...but I'll agree with someone that Tony F. retweeted yesterday: Steve@steveheard82 @tonyfernandes Tone, it could be a Tesco Bag painted blue n white for all I care as long as it's hoops and a great deal for the club.
But I agree, the white backs are not good. I know that makes the numbers easier to see on TV, but no QPR fan is going to like it.
Just seen the QPR new kit. Thought it was a practical joke.— Rodney Marsh💙™️ (@RodneyMarsh10) May 27, 2014
Really hate the new kit. The home kit is rubbish; more Reading than QPR. And the away kit is an abomination. Having said that, apparently Nike are giving us a boatload of money to make crappy kits that nobody will buy. I don't know how that makes business sense to them but that is their problem. We get the money, it helps balance the books. I don't buy a new kit each year anyhow, so this will just be one of my off years. Its all good.
Fernandes says we have to put up with a pre-made Nike template for a season and then they'll create a better, bespoke kit. Timing is a shame because 14/15 is such an important season for the club. Sure it's just a kit and it won't affect player performance but not great - especially these days - for fans to hate what you're wearing.
I spoke to someone "in the know" on kit development when I was over in March and he said the same. That said, Tony has been hinting that we'd be with Nike next year for quite awhile... you'd think the fairly simple "make the hoops go all the way around" request could have been accommodated on one of their template shirts.
Here is that now infamous template -- http://www.one5nine.co.uk/Nike-Hoop-III-Game-Football-Jersey-p/520463-463.htm And I guess a template is a template and bespoke is bespoke
