The schedule makes sense. The Quarterfinals and Final are played in consecutive weeks. There are weeks off during the Semifinals because there are national team games then including the start of World Cup Qualifying for worse CONCACAF countries.

I would be shocked if Saprissa got all the way to the finals, they are a decent club but not that good.

Edit- Scratch that, quarterfinals match, thought you meant that would be the finals... Yea I expect Club America to win that one.

I am interested in that Montreal vs Pachuca match-up, the Canadian MLS teams always draw pretty energetic crowds, and Montreal will be playing in a 55k capacity stadium for their home game and I bet it will likely get filled and they will probably buy a new DP by February to fill in for Di Vaio, and in-fact a lot of their team will probably look different by the time they play. I wonder if they can put together a solid team to throwout vs Pachuca.

Alajuelense vs D.C. United is probably the best match-up of the group stage imo. The top Costa Rican team taking on a quality MLS side. That will be a fun match-up to watch.

I think Alajuela, Pachuca, America, and Herediano will pass to the semis. Another year of Mexico and the Ticos being top 2!!

I would guess United, America, Pachuca, and Herediano advance.

    CCL all-time topscorers

    Javier Orozco 23 goals
    Carlos Darwin Q. 17 goals
    Chupete Suazo 16 goals
    King of England 15 goals

Both players at America: America has qualified to next season´s CCL as well.

    Both could pass Chuletita!!!

Saprissa is a solid club, but really America should win it pretty easily I would think.

Top Costa Rican team in what?

Saprissa is the current Champion (defeated Alajuelense in the final last season) and is well on its way to revalidate the trophy this Saturday vs. Herediano (first leg went 4-2 to Saprissa), after taking Alajuelense down in the semis.

Outside of the Mexican clubs, no club has Saprissa's pedigree in CCF. Granted, America is the toughest opponent we could have gotten, and clear favorite to go all the way, but more far-fetched things have happened in football. We are aiming for the win

I haven't been following the Costa Rican league, but Alajuelense finished with the most points on the season right? I may be wrong and i'll differ to you since I assume you probably know a lot more about which Costa Rican teams are better than I do.

Yeah, they actually did end up with the most points. But there are play-offs afterwards in our league.

Alajuelense does have a good team, and they racked up many points due to their incredible consistency against smaller teams. They did suffer vs. the big guys, and that's what cost them in the semis again.

Saprissa, on the other hand, had a really rocky start (to the point of sacking our coach), but has been a big game team, winning most Clasicos vs. Alajuelense (including the definitive one in the semis), taking down Kansas City and, most recently destroying a strong Herediano side at Saprissa Stadium (4-2, but could have been 5 or 6).

The team is looking good right now, with the return of a coach that previously took us to 5 straight league trophies in the 00's. We are on the rise.

No doubt it will be a good series between the 2. Winner reaches the final!

Honestamente, no confio en Matosas. Lo cago con Leon desgrasiadamente. Esto puede ser un desastre para el America. Perder esta serie seria peor que si hubieran perdido la Final contra Tigres.

I thought it was messed up that they fired Turco. He had America playing well even before all the refuerzos. This is when the coaching carousel could come back to bite you in the ass.

you guys remember Pellerano´s brawl with Corona last season when he was still with Tijuana? Remember he got banned for like 5 or 6 games or something.

Does that mean he is suspended for these knockout round games with America?
