The 47th FIS Alpine Ski World Cup season is scheduled to begin on 27 October 2012, in Sölden, Austria, and conclude on 17 March 2013, at the World Cup finals in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.[1][2] Being an odd-numbered year, the biennial World Championships will take place in February. The 2013 World Championships are scheduled for 4–17 February in Schladming, Austria. For the first time the International Ski Federation is upgrading its city events, paralell slalom, by awarding them World Cup points also for the Slalom crystal globe ranking,[3] not just overall. Starting this season, the governing body will not award a Combined crystal globe trophy for the season-long titles. Many organizers say the event is difficult to market.[4] This event will still count in overall ranking. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_Alpine_Skiing_World_Cup This sport is very popular. 2012 Alpine Skiing World Cup Rankings: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Alpine_Skiing_World_Cup 2011 Alpine Skiing World Cup Rankings: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Alpine_Skiing_World_Cup
